Re: Workout Thread
Mix up what you're doing Unique, it's called muscle confusion. If you continue to do the same thing over and over again eventually you'll plateau.

Re: Workout Thread
After a week off I got back into it today. Lifted focusing on shoulders, arms and chest with some abs at the end. Wanted to run some pickup for cardio, but with intramural volleyball taking place I would have had to have waited probably 45 minutes to get in a game on one of the two courts featuring pickup ball. Will get some cardio in tomorrow and get another lift in on Wednesday.

This is 21 year old 180lb in great shape R-Star talking, not 27 year old 190lb out of shape as **** R-Star talking. As for fat 27 year old R-Star, he just started a tuna diet for up at the rigs. 3 cans of tuna a day, that's it. I feel like a ****ing cat. Should help cut down a lot of fat though as I'm headed to Mexico for my brothers wedding at the end of May. Started out doing 100 pushups a day in 2 sets of 50 when I came up to work 2 weeks ago, this will be the 4th day of 150 pushups in 2 sets of 75 so I still have a bit of muscle memory left to see an improvement that quick. Should be up to 200 a day in 2 sets of 100 on my next hitch of work. No cardio which is a ***** because as I type this there's a bowflex treadclimber sitting right beside me but I'm "not allowed to use it during my 12 hour shift in case I get hurt.", which is bull****. I can use it when my shift is over, but after 12 hours I just want to get the **** off the rig and this safety meeting trailer I'm holled up in gets a ton of traffic so there's no privacy.

Re: Workout Thread
Ran a mile and did some abs today. Got a couple hundred shots up too. A decent cardio day, but I'll pick it up as I get back on track. Will be lifting and hooping later today.

Re: Workout Thread
Arms, chest and abs today. First time in ages. Easter holidays will hopefully be nothing but a cramfest of a job, working out, driving lessons, and coursework. Yeah...

Re: Workout Thread
Hit the wall yesterday on pushups. Only did my first 75 then couldn't do the second set. Need to give my body a few days to heal up.

Re: Workout Thread
Pecs, biceps, and triceps today. I've been slacking lately but I got myself a new bottle of No-Xplode and i actually upped most of my workouts. It was a really nice surprise.

Can you expand on that? Are you talking about curls? And a good rule of thumb is to make sure you use enough weight that you can only do 6-10 reps, if you can do more then that you should up the weight. I use 40 pound dumbbells on my curls and do 6-8 reps per arm, two sets.

Re: Workout Thread
No, I work out 4 days a week and I rarely do curls anymore. I did curls everytime I worked out in the first couple of months to even out the strength in my arms. Now I do a bunch of different dumbbell exercises; flies, chest presses, shoulder presses, rows, deadlifts, squats, lunges...
