Re: Skydiving
I'm really not a big fan of heights, but I've always said I'd make exceptions for amazing things like skydiving. I wouldn't want my fear to mean I don't get to experience things.

Re: Skydiving
He already said he hasn't. He doesn't even know the difference between bungee jumping and base jumping. I would love to base jump in a wing suit.

Re: Skydiving
Whether you just slow down dramatically or are pulled upwards, its still the same directional force.

Re: Skydiving
How about this: the harness applies the force to the waist and the thigh straps stay where they are. Have you even worn a harness before? Gone rock climbing or hang gliding or even para sailing?

Re: Skydiving
No just skydiving. Why doubt me? Try it out.
One of the best parts is seeing how your tour group behaves. They were deadly serious at first; no jokes or comments at all. Just silently and fearfully watching the instructional vid. I was the most gung-ho guy out of the group, probably because we met at 6 AM and I was pounding Henny til 3. Kept talking to everyone. They must've hated me, since I kept talking over the the instructional video. After the jump, almost everyone loosened up. At least those who weren't shaken to their core. One guy practically curled up into a ball and just stared at this phone. Probably looking at pictures of his family. I stifled my laughter out of respect. Everyone else was on adrenaline and endorphins. Folks were really friendly after the jump. Met some folks from the opposite side of the world. We got along based on our mutual experience and our love of fast food. Point is, skydiving brings people together by scaring the shit out of all of us. Go try it.

Re: Skydiving
I've been skydiving, base jumping, bungee jumping, parasailing, and rock climbing before. I have never had a wedgie from any of that. Maybe a bit of bunching where I wore the wrong clothes and my shorts bunched a bit above the leg harness straps, but never a wedgie. Base jumping is cooler, more real. Skydiving the ground doesn't look real. Base jumping you kinda say to yourself that this is a really bad idea and then hope you don't land in trees.

Re: Skydiving
This guy has been in free fall for four minutes. He was in a really bad spin for awhile and I was wondering if he was going to black out

Re: Skydiving
That made me dizzy. Can't imagine what it felt like when he opened that door and sat on the edge. I don't think I would do that for all the money in the world.
