Any of you ever done it? I always said I'd never do it (not a big fan of heights) but I know a couple of people who have done it and they've all said it's an incredible experience. I'm slowly starting to change my mind and am considering possibly doing this.

When I was a kid I was terrified of heights and said I'd never do it, but I really want to now. Still don't like heights, but I think it would be fun; I imagine once you jump you don't really think about how high you are. I'll probably do it some time in the next year or two.

You're a noob. Skydiving is way more badass than base jumping. You're jumping out of a freaking airplane.

When you base jump, you're jerked around by a cord like a screaming rag doll. Physics makes you its bitch. Never done it, but jumping out of a plane is an unparallelled feeling and seems way cooler.

You also spend more time in freefall, and you get to hang glide which is scarier than the actual freefall.

Don't you lose consciousness that high up?

Skydiving astronaut sounds cool. Some people go crazy with skydiving.

I saw a video of a guy skydiving without a harness. He just held the backpack the whole time. Another one was this pair skydiving while sitting on the hood of a car. The car dropped after the chute opened.

It's a whole lifestyle of crazy.

In all fairness however, if you were to jump out of a plane for your first jump ever solo or not. I'm sure your experience would be a hell of a lot different too.

I don't think it's fair to say either is more extreme than the other because the scenario could be so different.
