So i went to Wegmans today just to see if people where really going crazy over boxes of Twinkies and Ding Dongs...And sadly they where it was a f'n mob scene

Are Twinkies really that important? There are a million brands of similar foods on the same shelf.

I don't see the hype.

Not as much Twinkies as it is an Iconic Brand. Hostess has been around since 1930 and also owns Wonder Bread. Laying off 18,000 workers is a sad story any day of the week.

Aren't there off brand twinkies? I hope nobody tries to convince me that Hostess twinkie is MUCH better than some no-name brand.

It's corn syrup filling in a refined wheat sponge. Not really an elaborate recipe.

Yes lots. In fact I had one from Trader Joes on Tuesday and if I didn't know any different I wouldn't know the difference.
