Re: Christmas Plans?
I should be working until around the 18th until they shut down for Christmas. We're supposed to be back on the 27th, but I worked more than the other guys leading up until Christmas so I should be the guy to get time off until after New Years. Nice little break where I get both Christmas and New Years off.

Re: Christmas Plans?
Salaried. So nope. Did receive a decent Christmas bonus at the beginning of the month, though.
I am holding out hope that they'll let us cut out at noon on Christmas Eve lol

The only thing I could do now is just pay myself a Christmas bonus I guess. I should talk to my accountant and see if that's feasible without paying normal tax rates on it.

Re: Christmas Plans?
I don't have any solid plans, probably just the standard Christmas.
Christmas Eve I'll go to the pub with my friends, Christmas Day spent with my mum and grandma until about 5/6ish, then go to my dad's, stop over at his for the night. Spend boxing day morning with my dad, cousins, uncles etc. and then go back home for a bit, before going to my mums side of the family for a boxing day meal. New Years I think 15-20 of us are going to a friends house, he's got a pool table, heated swimming pool, Xbox with a huge screen, big speakers so should be a pretty fun party. This'll be the first time in 3 years that I get to spend my NYE with friends since I've worked the last 3 Christmas Eve's and New Years Eve's. Really looking forward to them. Oh and on the 23rd, Wolverhampton are bringing coach loads of students to Stafford (where I live) and they're all going out. Should be either really good or really, really bad. It's not the biggest town, and busy normal nights out are way too packed, so with them lot there too? Could be awful. |

Re: Christmas Plans?
Bonuses at my company do not come out until tax time (middle of April). I truly hate that because it doesn't help at all with the lean times around the holidays, but it does help me save the money.

Just booked a room in Banff for New Years....... then my friend informed me his parents, brother and cousin are also going.
Oh well. I'll still have fun.

Re: Christmas Plans?
Its frustrating because its my money. But since I only pay myself around 40% of what the company earns the rest of the money just sits there in the business account and stares me in the face.

Re: Christmas Plans?
You don't zero out every year? In the US, everyone zeroes out their account at the end of the year to avoid paying an extra 3% in taxes.
