No, it was too complex for about 60% of the audience. They kept asking who was whom and what was going on (NO ONE WENT TO THE BATHROOM DURING THESE TIMES THEY JUST DIDN'T GET WHAT WAS GOING ON!) or they just repeated lines or tried to predict the next line in a quip.

The thing is sure, it doesn't make sense to make a robot that looks 50 year old and is a midget, and understand why people complained, I do, but they didn't get the subtle hints as to why he was like that.


Where Reacher is from people kill younger people to steal their youth, so like, if you're a robot (from the past mind you), you don't want to have to deal with people looking at you and wanting to murder you to steal your youth. So that's why hes a 50 year old midget.
