The most that can really happen is a renewal of the assault rifle ban and prohibition on high capacity magazines. It's pretty ****ed up that we live in a country where there are so many people feel like they need an assault rifle and four 30 round magazines. Unless you are Tony ****ing Montana that is not something you have a legitimate need for.

Mexico has some pretty strict gun laws. They also have mass graves. Generally speaking laws really only work on the people that don't need them.

I'd argue that in this case the problem was the mother of a mentally ill child teaching him how to shoot as a method of relaxation (or whatever). There's no real way, short of turning the country into a vast prison camp, of keeping the crazies from finding a weapon and shooting the shit out of things. So if you want to make an impact the best way to do it is early intervention. (There's really no way around the fact that this increasingly looks like a case of the crazed leading the crazy.)

Most of the guns used by the cartels are purchased by straw buyers in the border states and smuggled into Mexico from the USA. Our gun laws are partially responsible for the widespread availability of military style small arms in Mexico. I am sure that those guys could get AK's somewhere, but from all outward appearances it's easier for them to get Americans to buy the guns for them and then resell them.

This young man was obviously mentally ill, but that would not have been nearly so big a problem if his Mother had not procured this arsenal and trained him to use an assault rifle.

I don't know what your point is. China's system has its pros and cons just like US's system has its pros and cons. Not to mention the topic right now is gun laws. China's gun laws is on par with the rest of the world. The same thing could've happened in Japan and the death toll would've been low since there are no guns there either.

The first company that hired me actively recruited athletes because of our competitive nature. My former teammate works as a pharma rep for a company that also has the same belief.

Depends on where you go work at I guess. Business is war. The athlete probably has a stronger desire to beat the teams hes up against than the Mcdonalds part timer wants to kick Wendys ass.
