Re: Children, gunman dead in Conn. elementary school shooting
Yeah, I wasn't posting that in bad taste.
There's just no general compassion in our society for one another. No caring, no sense of awareness. People don't care that they are killing a mother, father, brother, sister, husband, wife, cousin, etc while tormenting families in the process. People are willing to harm others out of their own selfish reasoning. "I'm depressed so I'm going to ruin other people's lives." "I need money so I'm going to rob somebody and if they don't give me the money, I'll kill him." "I have sexual urges so I'm going to harm someone else to get what I want." Even the most petty things: "Someone stepped on my shoe so I'm going to harm them." "Someone called my friend/relative a name so I'm going to harm them." Ugh. I'm so disgusted and I genuinely feel bad for the families who will be scarred for the rest of their life by this. |

Re: Children, gunman dead in Conn. elementary school shooting
Is it true that the gunman was a father one of the students, and he killed his own son? Someone on another forum said this but I can't find confirmation.

Father of one of the students, yes. No idea about whether or not he killed his own son.

31 U.S. school shootings since Columbine. School shootings in every other country in the world combined since that time: 14.
Wow.

SERIOUSLY!? I mean...I can at least understand the train of thought of an angry student who guys and kills a bunch of kids in high High School. Obviously don't agree with it, but I see the motivation. This.....there's just no punishment big enough to put on someone for doing something this horrendous. You might as well be Hitler.

Re: Children, gunman dead in Conn. elementary school shooting
That's the sad fact that kids just don't have anyone anymore. They all are doped up so that they don't feel things and then they're left alone all night by their parents who think parenting is like pet ownership that as long as you feed him he's fine (even that's not good pet ownership).

Zero faith in humanity right now. I hope the Mayans are right.

Re: Children, gunman dead in Conn. elementary school shooting
I think a fair assessment is that the more coverage these shootings get, the more desire it creates for people with mental disorders to want to do this. It gives them that 15 seconds of fame, a back story as to why their ****ing crazy, and tells "their story". I understand it would be stupid to not cover tragedies like this, but how about we stop identifying the murderers? Maybe ABC News could stop dedicating a half an hour of prime time news to tell the back story of another ****ing crazy person, eager for attention.

Never heard of anything like this before. What kind of person decides to shoot up kindergartners? And these gunmen always take their own life in the end like cowards.
