Personally I liked the movie, even though every single person I talk to tells me what they could have done better. They finally have the technology to make super hero movies real.
I haven't seen the movie, but a comic book expert was recently interviewed here on radio, and he said that it was the most accurate superhero movie he's ever seen...the plot, characters, and scenes did not vary much at all from the historic comic book characters in Spiderman.
I haven't seen it yet, but some people have said it is really good - a throwback type of movie for fans of all ages. So I will see it and then give you my personal opinion then.

it's a good movie. tobey mcquire did a good job playing peter parker and willem defoe (that's his name, right?) did a good job playing green goblin (or rather, the guy who becomes green goblin)
The movie is very accurate to the Spiderman comic storyline except for not having Gwen in it.She's Spiderman's original girlfriend and was killed in that bridge confrontation with Green Goblin,the scene that was portrayed with Mary Jane.Whats impressive is that it's set up so that the next Spiderman movie will be fairly true to the comic.Every one here already knows that the Osborne kid takes his fathers place and becomes the Green Goblin,right?
i didn't know (i feel so ignorant...lol), but like you said, the movie does lead to it. so, i kind of figured that osborne's son would be the villain in the next movie.
I thought if that if you still go to the movies to have fun, instead of being overly-critical, that you'd love it, as I did. Excellent adaption of my favourite superhero
Anyone who overly criticizes summer blockbusters is an idiot.These movies arent exactly designed to be Oscar material,they're purely entertainment,as much a lightharted part of summer as going to the beach.The really heavy dramatic stuff comes out at the end of the year so they're still fresh in peoples minds come awards time.Don't be so critical of "Spiderman" and ST1AOTC",Go to the beach,get a taco in on the way home then go out to the movies,snuggle up and share a tub of popcorn with your girl (or in Bizz's case guy) and enjoy yourself.

Felt like bringing up a seriously old thread. Anyway, when is the Spider-Man sequel going to be coming out??? The first one was kick ***, so i'm just waiting to get my watch on eventually.
