Re: Tool - 10,000 Days

..

There is apparently a newer leaked version that is supposedly a much better quality sound. I read this on Toolnavy. They say you can hear a lot more going on in this newer version and that it just overall sounds better.

Hm. weird. But yeah I'm not gonna look for it though. I'm not listening to the CD anymore till I buy it next week. I broke the burned CD and deleted it off my comp to avoid this haha. I only listened to it about 8 times in total. I wanna keep it still fresh and see if I find myself wanting to hear it even more. Cuz like last day or so I hadn't been as excited as I was when 2nd-4th time I heard it. But not as nearly as less excited as I was when I first heard it. Yeah, I know I'm weird. But it may have been because I was in a ****ty mood all day, yesterday.

When I first listened to the songs I was a little disappointed because I was looking for quick satisfaction. But some of the songs like 10,000 Days itself you really have to let yourself soak it in.

I don't know ... I was disappointed at first but now I removed Lipan Conjuring and Viginti Tres from the playlist and I can listen through the whole thing and really enjoy it. Still the only song that really doesn't do it for me is Intension.

It is amazing how much time some people are putting into trying to prove these hoax theories. I've been reading around on toolnavy for a bit. There are a lot of hints or rumors pointing to a double-CD ... I guess if there is something going on it wouldn't be a complete hoax but maybe a double-CD with another set of songs. But I really doubt it.
I think the people who are disappointed that keep trying to listen to it to try and find some way to like it will prolly get disappointed even more. They need to just quit trying so hard, don't listen to it for a little bit and come back to it. Forcing it won't do you any good. It also may take yrs.

I totally disagree with him saying it's mediocre. Not sure what he's hearing. People place too many expectations on things. Even I did at first but I still find it on par with others so far...who knows maybe better?

I'm listening to it right now and I can notice a real difference and that is just on my laptop speakers. Whoever ripped it the first time apparently didn't compress it correctly and it kind of lost some of deepness and background sound. I assume this one is much closer to what the real CD will sound like. Me likey.

Yikes, Rosetta Stoned sounds much more brutal ... gosh darned, **** the bed

yeah, it just sounds more meaty .. and Maynard's vicious screams there in the beginning sound a lot more harsh and not so much in the background.

If I do get to see them in concert I hope they play this song live ... Rosetta Stoned would be awesome live.

ah, ****, if you liked the album based off the first rip you are going to love it even more when you pop in the real CD. Damn, this one really does sound a lot better.

yeah , RNS ripped it yesterday - best in the business , sounds a lot better - but my opinion of the album remains the same. seems like leftovers from their last 2 albums , with a little more tangent.

It seems like most of the decoy album or hoax album rumors are being put to rest. There are people in other countries where the album has already released with actual copies of the CD.

The CD artwork looks pretty awesome.

Some people still hypothesize that they may be releasing another album quickly after their upcoming tours although that seems like pure speculation.

I no longer have any disappointment whatsoever with this album. The newer leaks with better sound make it even better and outside of the segues this album is pretty incredible.

**** the bed again ...

I'm still waiting for next Tuesday to see most of the artwork and packaging haha. But I think that 6/6/06 date thing that Adam mentioned along with 4/17 and 5/02 is for Alex Grey/Tool book about his involvement with the tour/band. It seems they scrapped the idea for live dvd according to them in an interview unless they're lying. But yeah, I doubt they'll release another album soon after the tour is done.

Lipan Conjuring actually grew on me before I stopped listening to it. It's supposed to some exorcism chant with Danny and someone else of some sort. That scream at the end is bad *** haha.

Ooooh, do you see the link for the live mp3s of vicarious, the pot, and sober floating around from there? I was hoping Jambi would be added soon. A video clip is more awesome though haha.

Me and the guy I work with were thinking of trying to make a late attempt at going to Coachella. I would have loved to. But it looked a little too pricey so I'll have to wait until they make their way this way after the Europe tour.

No, I haven't seen anyone of those links ... I got that other link off of a quick look on Toolnavy. If there is something out there some Tool homer will find it and post it there.

I checked the Coachella site yesterday hoping by some small chance Tool would be part of the live stream but alas it wasn't to be so. I didn't figure they'd allow it ...
