Yeah, they've done Ticks 2 times live and he uses a modifer when they do it. Guess it still hurts his voice cuz when they recorded it for Lateralus, he used none and lost his voice for about 3 weeks. Not sure if that was the reason why he ****ed up on Parabola though. But yeah everyone has bad days so.

I thought he was hilarious on that indie film clip. even in the outtakes haha. youtube has some bad *** videos though. damn.

Re: Tool - 10,000 Days

LOL, I read about that a few yrs ago, never knew there was video till last yr. That was great.

No one better want to **** with Maynard. He learned Brazlian ju-jitsu by the Gracie family.

This right here, seriously, one of the best performances I've seen on video. Tool covering "You Lied" (which also appears on Salival CD/DVD combo)

Ah man, I just read comments of where I found it. It was just a perfomance of it but dubbed over by the one from the CD. Lame.

Re: Tool - 10,000 Days

Man, listening to Lateralus again. There is something so amazing about this album. So, much depth musically, and spiritually to it. Even if the subject of the songs are pretty straight forward as well as the theme of "letting go" through each song. 10,000 Days seems to just lack some of that depth in the music right now even though I love it. And I say right now because I could discover something later on about it that I didn't. I still listen to it a lot but I've also listened to Lateralus as well as Ænima lately. Pretty much only things I have listened to, except NIN.

I am in agreement. I'd give Aenima and Lateralus a 10 and I'd give 10,000 Days a 9. An album like 10,000 Days from any other band would make their career. For Tool, it is a great follow-up after two straight classics. Although I think there is a lot to be discovered about 10,000 Days. I still love it though ...

There are a lot of rumors or ideas going around about the final track, Viginti Tres. I hadn't noticed it, but if you add up the track times for Viginti Tres and Wings for Marie they are exactly equal to the 10,000 Days track. At first people said to play Viginti Tres + Wings for Marie alongside 10,000 Days. I tried it and even though mine got off by a bit, it did work and at times it really sounded intentional. Now people are saying to play Wings for Marie + Viginti Tres next to 10,000 Days. I haven't tried that. Either way, I think people are on to something. I don't think it is coincidence the track times match up and that Viginti Tres (23) is an important number in the idea of synchronicity.

lol, not sure if you know but when Tool perfoms live they have these screens behind them that play animations or their official videos for those singles to go with all the songs that they are playing. Adam Jones, who is also the guitarist and sometimes a few of others do all the work put into that. It's really cool, especially when you see them in person.

But if you see any clips of Tool playing "The Grudge" live at one point throughout it you'd see this image with like a green wall and this eye looking through twitching like it's gonna close and this "anchor" type looking swinging infront of it. I just took an image of Maynard in front of it and cut it so I just had that part. I always thought it looked awesome.

Yeah, I also think in Ænima there is more depth to it musically as well as lyrically. I found it to be more challenging lyrically than either. Yeah there is still a lot to discover on 10,000 Days, as there is in their past work. I don't think it's totally been discovered yet.

As for the synchronicity in those 3 songs, I tried not to pay attention to that. Seemed more like overthinking to me, and all just a coincidence with the timing. Although, and I'm not sure if I mentioned it. I found it kinda interesting when people came up with that whole alternate tracklisting to Lateralus and how if graphed them geometrically, it matched up with the Fibonacci Sequence which is when each number equals the sum of the two previous ones, like 1,1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, etc, and if you keep going 987 will come out which is what spiral comes out to. Lateralus title track was also tentatively titled 987 too. But when you put it in the order, I heard it's supposed to bleed together like it's one song, not sure how exactly because they split some songs that do flow. I haven't actually tried it out though. The order is Parabol, Parabola, Schism , Ticks & Leeches, Mantra, Lateralus, Faaip De Oiad, The Grudge, Triad, Eon Blue Apocalypse, Reflection, The Patient and Disposition. But Maynard recently spoke against the alternate tracklistings, and he said whichever way the tracklisting is, is how it's supposed to go, so. I don't think they do these things intentionally.

Oh, yeah, I don't know if it has to do with it but originally wings and 10,000 days were supposed to end the cd, Maynard said recently how month ago it was totally different tracklist. Maybe Viginiti Tres was before it?

quality isn't great but the opener is hilarious with comedians david cross and brian posehn. You also get a good look at the image I used. Especially, the end. This song is amazing live. amazing either way but still haha.

Yeah, I am familiar with the sequence. It appears to be a constant theme all over their music. If I remember correctly the syllables in the lyrics of Parabola are done in the Fibonacci Sequence.

I do remember reading that Maynard said the tracklisting was different a month ago but that might have been, if I remember, from a fake Maynard interview posted. But I wouldn't doubt that answer anyway. A lot of people comment that Viginti Tres sounds somewhat like wings flapping and may be a respresentation of Judith Marie's ascension into Heaven or wherever she is headed.

I don't put much salt into a lot of these theories people come up with but I still don't think it is coincidence that VT + Wings for Marie = 10,000 Days time-wise.

For a group that says "over thinking, over analayzing seperates the body from the mind" they sure do hide a lot of **** in their music. Thankfully I just let all the die-hards find those things and then I just read about them.

haha ... that was a great intro ...

That is one of the better Lateralus tour vids I have seen. Usually you can barely see Maynard at all. The dude with the camera has the zoom feature down but needs a little work on the focus feature.
