Re: The hidden treasures of hip-hop thread..
Speaking of Buckshot, he one of those guys who I may not bump for an entire month or two, but when I listen again, I'll end up just playing him nonstop for like a week straight...

Re: The hidden treasures of hip-hop thread..
Akinyele- Vagina Diner: classic album that most people overlook. it was entirely produced by Large Professor in his prime, and contrary to the album title, Ak's rhymes were not really about girls on this album at all.....that was his thing AFTER this album, aka when he fell the **** off.
3 Melancholy Gypsys- Grand caravan to the end of the world...: murs, eligh and scarub came together to make an underground classic in 2005....this cd is very rarely talked about...but eligh brings it on the production, murs gets veryyy diverse with his subject matter and scarub raps on beat for once. its a really dope LP, i recommend it obviously. Camp Lo- Uptown Saturday Night: another dope, slept on album......ski who produced on reasonable doubt is their producer, and the mcs are dope as well. Cyne- Evolution Fight: i randomly heard about these guys on the internet....but i was pretty blown away by their album. its basically pseudo intellectual nonsense, but it sounds like it makes sense but whatever. beats are ill as well. Last Emperor- Music Magic Myths: another slept on underground classic. crazy lyricist.....the dude who made secret wars, the comic book vs emcees song....****s pretty ill sirs Heltah Skeltah - Nocturnal: i know you guys gotta be familiar with Sean P....but since i see some people dont really know about the BCC, they gotta check this **** out......its a top 10 album personally for me. real dark and grimy ****....beatminerz in their prime, ruck and rock tearin mics apart. Smif N Wessun - Dah Shinin: see above, just replace ruck and rock with tek and steele....the bassline on sound bwoy burreil = greatness O.G.C. - Da Storm: see above......more classic boot camp ****....and if you havent already, get Black Moon- Enta Da Stage....so now ive listed all the essential BCC albums. OC- Word...Life: underrated as ****.....slept on like crazy. i guess he got lost in the shuffle, even though Times up was a hit...sorta. Reef the lost cauze- feast or famine: maybe some of you guys heard him on the army of the pharoahs ****....but he is an ill lyricist out of philly who is pretty witty and writes some really good songs at the same time. The Nonce - World Ultimate: real jazzy laid back album, features aceyalone on 3-4 songs....its like a west coast tribe, but nothing like pharcyde. Young Gunz- tough luv: ill album by some underrapreciated members of the roc. they can spit......and just blaze produced alot of it. i think clay didnt mention any of these guys...his list was pretty nice too.

Re: The hidden treasures of hip-hop thread..
Ohmega Watts is another, a really good rapper/producer out of the Northwest. Released The Find in 2005. I hyped it around here back then and I think a few others copped it.. Very positive, good stuff he has a new album coming out this year.
Another rapper who has a positive vibe is LA's own Trek Life. He released an album last year (can't remember the name) which had a lot of production done by Babu (of Dilated Peoples fame). I like his work a lot as well.
