Re: Best Releases Thus Far (2012 edition)

Got round to that new Ab-Soul today. So much better than Longterm Mentality (and I'm a big fan of that) imo. Track with Danny Brown is dope.

Haven't got round to that Killer Mike either yet. So far behind already this year.

Re: Best Releases Thus Far (2012 edition)

Nearly past the half-way mark of the year, so AOTY so far?

Habits & Contradictions for me. I'm still playing that once or twice a week, straight fire. There He Go is one of my favourite songs of the year. I'd probably go with Ab-Soul's at number 2 as well. Black Hippy are so dope.

Not really getting the Killer Mike hype. It's not bad, but I've seen people calling it amazing, meh.

the whole thing, Ab-Soul is boring to me. I liked the black hippy remix at the end though.

I can see why people don't like him. It took me a few spins.

Forgot about that Clear Soul Forces you/Dale put me on, that was real dope. I still haven't got round to XV's yet.

Who's Jon Hope? Who would you compare him to?

I like it more than whatever last year's album of the year was, but it's still behind My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy for me.

Charity Starts at Home, Section.80, Undun and Watch The Throne are all better off the top of my head. But as I said, I'm not a fan of it.

Re: Best Releases Thus Far (2012 edition)

Yeah, I was thinking Section.80 or Return of 4Eva is arguable. I don't **** with Little Brother, and wouldn't put Watch the Throne ahead of R.A.P. Music

Not Undun?

We all know how much I stan for Ye/Jay/The Throne so I'm biased on the last one.

This. And no. 2 (Ab Soul) ain't even close.

EDIT: Undun was 2012? Then it's that. The Roots have been LBJ-type dominant lately.

Nah, Undun was 2011. We were discussing RAP Music vs. 2011 albums.
