Re: Self Made Vol. 2
This has leaked, not getting it till later tonight though.
Hearing the 1st track is 8+ minutes long. I can't wait for Kendrick's verse, as always. I've never really listened to Stalley but he's on a few of these tracks so I'll reserve judgement. Expecting the usual MMG quality production, thanks to Ross' ear for beats. Black Magic gonna be the new Ima Boss? (basing this just off the tracklist, and the fact it's another Ross + Meek track)

Re: Self Made Vol. 2
lol y'all know damn well y'all dont **** with MMG or Ross
TBH though this isn't as good as vol. 1, there's no big moments like Meek's singles. Seems like they lost gas on those big 808 records and decided to get a little more "reflective" |

Re: Self Made Vol. 2
Anyone who follows me on Twitter knows I'm a huge fan of Ross and like Meek too. Just cos I haven't really got into Stalley doesn't make me less of an MMG fan

Re: Self Made Vol. 2
They gotta put him somewhere...Diddy giving them that budget for them videos etc., they gotta look out for him too and not just by saying Ciroc
French is a weak rapper but he's an asset cause for some reason people (who I think want to be trendy) like him. I like his hooks though And what's funny about Stalley is he proves Wale didn't have to "sell out" to get on MMG, he's just becoming that guy because he wants to |

Re: Self Made Vol. 2
**** what he says. Of course he's going to shine it as growth...but only a damn fool would think Mixtape about Nothing's material to him making a bunch of female songs and obsessing about "ambition" is growth. Come on now. If you like Wale that's fine but call a spade a spade...
Are you even familiar with Wale's old shit? What's the earliest project you've heard from him We already had a thread awhile back about how he became the exact rapper he was against and tried to parody. He showed flashes of good commentary and nice lyrical ability, but mostly all he ever did was talk about what "they" do in the mainstream and talk about how he was different without being able to articulate why through song. He thought he was good enough to "change the game" and be commercially accessible while still being "conscious", so his first album was all over the place, flopped, got dropped and then Rick Ross let him on his boat only for him to become a poor man's Fabolous. He should've just stayed underground. I can already see with his personality though that wouldn't have been good enough so he made the concessions to become a big name and he sold himself short because musically he should be much higher regarded than he is now. The hype he had in 2008 was warranted but he dropped the ball. And he's an asshole (I know this firsthand) so I'm gleeful about talking about this |
