RZA- Man with the iron fists

If this is as good as the first Afro Samurai soundtrack, than Ocotober 22nd will between RZA and Kendrick make my entire hip hop year.

Re: RZA- Man with the iron fists

Wow I did not know he was still going. Just saw the trailer to this movie, and it looks like the coolest, most ridiculous thing ever.

Hearing these RZA tracks, they sound so nostalgic. I haven't heard this sound in years.

I've heard Built For This and Tick, Tock. Both are really dope.

Re: RZA- Man with the iron fists

First listen... now I remember RZA's style. He's why this album is great and terrible at the same time. His beats capable of impressing you for some stretches, then making you raise an eyebrow at others. After like 20 years, I can't believe he's still trying to rap. He's always had horrible vocals.

Nice to hear GZA on Six Directions of Boxing. It's been a while since he's had anything new.

Yeah, but the only track I liked on it was Pencil... actually now that I think about it I think his son was on one? That was ok.

Re: RZA- Man with the iron fists

That was 2008. He had his son on a couple tracks, but not Pencil. Alphabets was the other hit I liked.

Well, not really a hit. Didn't think there were any on that one. It was ok, but it just felt dated. Nobody rhymes like that anymore, and that was 4 years ago.

Re: RZA- Man with the iron fists

No I know his son wasn't on Pencil, just mentioned that that was my favorite song. Just went back and looked, Groundbreaking was the track I was talking about. Columbian Ties was nice too.

Going to check out the RZA stream now.

I've always defended RZA's rapping because I love his lyrics and how genuine he sounds. "And no man can stop my flow, because I know what I speak, and I speak what I know."

Re: RZA- Man with the iron fists

Yeah RZA could definitely be considered an acquired taste to some people. I used to like him when I first heard 36 Chambers but the lisp got annoying and his thoughts were too jumbled sometimes for a musical mastermind.

Yeah, I love his production but I can't sit through many of his verses.
