Ohhh, no way. Megatron doesn't rack up the receptions. I'd say you bump CJ2K and Forte ahead of the QBs in PPR, and ditto for MJD if he comes back, at the very least. Mathews would be up there too if he wasn't injured, but he's still a late 1st in PPR IMO.

Seriously? I have taken all 3 of my money leagues to auctions for the last 3 years. I would never get in a snake draft league again. They are somewhere between 10 and a million times as boring.

Eh, never really been motivated to switch an auction. I like the strategy involved in drafting.

The strategy in an auction is infinitely more complex and interesting.

I can see the argument for CJ2K. I'd have rated as #6 on my list.

I think Forte is going to have a down year due to the improved passing attack and Michael Bush. Certainly worth an early second rounder, but I don't see him as a top pick.

I hear you about how Megatron doesn't rack up the receptions, however, PPR leagues push the RBs and especially WRs closer to the QB position. Rodgers and Megatron are so far ahead of the next guy, you are almost getting two tiers worth of value by having one of them.

CJ has enough of a cloud above him that I wouldn't risk him ahead of the five I mentioned.

Prior to the Matthews injury, my draft board was:
1. Foster
2. Rice
3. McCoy
---
4. Rodgers
5. Megatron
---
6. Matthews
7. Chris Johnson
8. Darren McFadden
9. MJD
---
10. Jimmy Graham
11. Drew Brees
12. Demarco Murray
13. Matt Forte
14. Jamaal Charles
15. Adrian Peterson
16. Marshawn Lynch
---
17. Trent Richardson
18. Larry Fitz
19. Tom Brady
20. Rob Gronkowski

Richardson at 17? Seems high to me.

That isn't true about Rodgers in fact i don't think he was the to qb last year. And in a ppr megatron comes back to the pack a little.

Brees was, but by scoring 40-something fantasy points in the final game while Rodgers sat to narrowly edge him out. Brees, Eli, and Stafford all had career years and it would be tough to predict any of them have as good or better of a season with any certainty. Rodgers had a career year in TDs thrown that might not compete, however if teams are more competitive with the Packers this season vs last, I wouldn't be suprised if Rodgers put up 5400-5600 yards. Consistency and a lack of INT gives him an easy advatage over his closes peers (much like that of Foster, Rice, and McCoy).

Megatron had the third most receptions last year, so certainly gains ground over the field at WR where he already has a serious advantage to anyone not named Welker or White. He also catches up ~100 total points to the top point earning position. PPR helps his value in both respects.

I did an auction league once. Wouldn't mind doing one again, but the problems we ran into are:

a) It was everyone's first time so no one knew what they were doing, and
b) We did it on ESPN, as opposed to Yahoo! All of us had been doing all of our football, basketball, and baseball leagues on Y! b/c it's friendlier and more intuitive. Eventually we all just stopped checking ESPN and no one cared.

In fact, I'm in a snake draft ESPN league right now and I can't even figure out how to change my team name.

Haha, that would surprise me greatly.

Re: 1st Overall Pick: Who you taking?

Calvin Johnson was 4th in the NFL in receptions last year... If your league awards bonus points for big plays and yardage milestones, he's a strong pick in the top 5. He's an above average health risk between himself and Stafford, but not as bad as any running back.

I have the #1 in a full-team league. Trying to decide between Rodgers, Foster, Rice, and Jared Allen.
