Mid-Season Wrap Up
Officially at the half-way mark, the landscape for Season 4 in the FRSL is starting to take form. We have had some surprise teams, some disappointing teams and of course the elite teams that are looking to be the top contenders for the coveted FRSL title. Let’s take a look back at the first half of this year’s season:
Top Contenders: •Sonics – projected to be one of the top 2 teams in the West this year, the Sonics have not disappointed as they currently boast the best record in the FRSL and probably also the best 1 through 5 with a starting lineup that includes Deron Williams, MarShon Brooks, Terrence Jones, Blake Griffin, and Greg Monroe. The one knock on this team has been their lack of depth, though if they can stay healthy look for Seattle to make a deep run in this year’s playoffs. •76ers – with the steal of this year’s free agency (Marcin Gortat) and the addition of Dwyane Wade, the 76ers did not rebuild this off-season they reloaded. The Sixers made a deep run in last year’s playoffs and they are determined to go even further this year. Will the combo of Wade & Ginobili be enough to win it all?? •Blazers – while the Blazers could have just as easily been up on my Surprise Team list they deserve to be mentioned among the top contenders this year. The real surprise this year has been the play out of Kyle Lowry who is currently among the top MVP candidates. With the addition of Jeff Teague, the Blazers have one of the most solid backcourts in the league and are definitely a team to look out for this year. •Heat – one of the best defensive teams in the league, the Heat are much improved this year after adding Josh Smith & Jrue Holliday in the off-season. Led by Luol Deng and one of the best frontcourts in the league (Bynum/Duncan), Miami is poised to be a tough matchup for whoever they go against in the playoffs. •Lakers – Led by MVP candidate MKG, the Lakers are probably the deepest team in the FRSL as they currently have two players that are serious candidates for the 6th man award with Dario Cosic & Taj Gibson. Veteran PG, Dimitris Diamantidis has already won 1 ring as a member of the Lakers and rumors have it around the league that DD might hang it up after this year if he can add a second ring to the trophy case. •Bobcats – Led by Kevin Durant, the Bobcats are one of best offensive teams in the league as they can score in bunches. The reigning FRSL champs, the Charlotte Bobcats are looking to go back-to-back as they bring back the main core of last year’s team that won it all but will it be enough to compete with the new & improved Heat & 76ers?? Surprise Teams: •Pistons – while they are currently up for sale, the Detroit Pistons may be looking for new ownership but they are serious about competing now. Under their interim coach, the Pistons have been one biggest surprises of this year mainly due to the recent move of Lebron to the point. Will this be the year that LBJ wins it all?? •Magic – after cleaning up in this year’s FRSL rookie draft, it’s not too much of a surprise that the Magic are a better team this year though with the outstanding play out of their rookies (Jackson, Gill, Anderson) and new addition Serge Ibaka, the Magic are looking more like the team of right now instead of the team of the future. •Hornets – with no GM’s predicting that the Hornets would make the playoffs this year, the Hornets have a solid grasp on the eight seed in the West despite the below .500 record. Led by one of the youngest cores in the FRSL, the Hornets appear to be a team on the rise. Disappointing Teams: •Hawks – after drafting Jabari Parker #2 overall and signing Jason Kidd in the off-season, the Atlanta Hawks were expected to compete for a playoff spot this year, though with the much improved Eastern Conference it’s looking like Hawks might be competing for a lottery spot instead. With a nice young core, the Hawks should only improve over time. •Nuggets – with many GM’s predicting that the Nuggets would fight for the 7th or 8th seed this year, it’s very surprising to see them among the bottom of the standings this year. After only half of a season, the Tyreke Evans experiment does not appear to be going to plan and he’s already rumored to be on the trade block. •Celtics – the C’s got off to a hot start this year though have cooled off recently. After trading away Danny Granger for Chris Bosh, the team’s performance has dropped noticeably. Will the Celtics coaching staff be able to fix their problems in time for the playoffs??

about MemphisX , he is certainly the best GM in taking a great team and when he knows that he can't be a contender he know when to break it all and he's doing it great..

Re: Mid-Season Wrap Up
Playoffs should be fun this year, a couple teams from both conferences that are contending.
