2016 Eastern Conference Preview
![]() The 76ers starting with their rebuild last season after trading D-wade Manu and Gortat for Derrick Williams and Brook Lopez , on paper it looked like their team lost more then they got in return but the Sixers are still strong enough to be a playoff unless they will trade some of their better assets for picks and cap relief. Best case:1st round elimination Worst case: 10th place in the east ![]() The Celtics traded LBJ last season for Rajon Rondo and the young and talented Sergey Karasev and this duo should lead them to success. Adding Jeff Teague next to them give the celtics 3 quality passers in the 1,2,3 positions and this could be very tricky for their opponents but on the other hand they dont posses a lot of threat from the outside as none of them is quality outside shooter but Wesley Matthews ,Austin Daye and Markieff Morris should be the ones to solve this problem for the celtics. Best case:1st round elimination Worst case: giving a lottery pick ![]() The Miami Heat still looks the same as they did last year and they are still a top 3 team in the East but this will surely be their last run for the ring , as they are way above the Hard cap and they will have to trade J-Smoove and Bynum . The addition of Ebanks Shumpert and Zeller will sure help them for their title run. Best case:FRSL Finals Worst case: 1st round elimination ![]() Andrew Nicholson is the new addition to the Knicks roster this year after no major signing has been done during Free Agency. It looks like the Knicks GM really love his roster - no changes , no trades and still a very mediocre team that maybe will be at best 7th seed at the East. The Knicks are really a talented team on offence but they cant play any D at all so if they wont do changes and maybe try trade Anderson Varejao awful contract and maybe gallo for some picks so this team will be always stuck in the middle. Best case:8th seed in the East Worst case: 9th seed in the East ![]() Except for matching Harrison Barnes contract during RFA the magic didn't do much at the last pre-season .. a very young and talented team with a lot of depth in almost each position. This Magic team can win it all though IMO their front court is still weak comparing to the top teams , the magic has all the value to bring a better big guy than Dieng or Ibaka. Best case:FRSL finals Worst case: 2nd round elimination ![]() Great job by Bballjay , he took over a team who had no picks in 2 years and did some great moves during this offseason and even before by clearing almost all his cap. Starting the offseason with just 3 signed you can certainly say that this Nets team is entirely new , Westbrook, Walker , Evans and Sullinger are all players who like the ball in their hands going to be interesting how they all will play together Best case:2nd round elimination Worst case: 9th seed in the East ![]() The Bullets did exactly what they should have in the offseason , they needed to improve their defense and to add more scoring options , both Deng and Artur Miles should solve the Bullets problems and with Timor healthy the Bullets should finally be a playoff team. Best case:1st round elimination Worst case: 10th seed in the East ![]() The Bucks are in rebuilding mode certainly after losind Cody Zeller in RFA , Mark Waidman is a nice addition from the recent draft and should be the core for this team with Abrines , Bebe and Davis . I wont be surprised if the Bucks will trade Iggy and Calderon during the year to maybe get younger Assets. Best case:9th seed Worst case: 12th in the East ![]() Like the Nets also the Bulls cleared a lot of contracts for expiring ones and drafting 5 new players in the recent draft. Stacey Jackson should be the player to watch maybe also Eli Fitzgerald but this Bulls team won't be a playoff team and my guess is that they dont want to as well. Best case: 10th seed Worst case: The Pistons will make the playoffs so their picks wont be a lotto one as expected ![]() The Hawks GM BlakeJesus has found his system with Dario Saric playing as his SF Point and playing with a scoring PG . This system went well last season (to bad for them he didn't send a DC for the playoffs as they could have beaten the Huskies) and Lou Williams is a huge upgrade for George Hill as their scoring PG , so i expect them to do better. Best case:2nd round elimination Worst case: 1st round elimination ![]() The Pacers had the first pick in the 2015 FRSL Draft and Brad Onasis should develop into their Franchise player , too bad for them they lost Russell Westbrook in Free Agency . With Onassis and Andrews the Pacers will show some highlights during the season but no more then that as they should be a lottery team, Best case:11th seed in the East + a good pick from the Mavs Worst case: 9th seed in the East ![]() Kind of hard for me to understand what the Pistons are doing as IMO they lost each trade since their new GM tok ove the team , they dont hold their first pick for the next draft and their payroll is close to the Hard Cap! , considering the fact that they don't have a player that is close to be even an AllStar their situation isn't good. Best case:8th seed in the East Worst case: giving a top 4 pick to the Bulls ![]() The Huskies have a new GM - Tmac25 . After taking a team over the hard cap with no Bird Rights the only right thing is to go for rebuild (especially when they have to trade Step Curry) , It shouldn't be such a problem for them as Curry is one of the best SG in the league and they also have one of the best players in the league LBJ. Best case:5th seed in the East Worst case: 10 seed in the East ![]() The Bobcats might be the top team in the East as they have the best player in the league - Kevin Durant . With Bogut , Thomas and Sessions they are still stronge enough to get to the FRSL finals but they did lost depth with the lost of Kemba Walker. Best case:FRSL Finals Worst case: 2nd round elimination
