Detroit receives: Jonas Valanciunas.

Los Angeles trades: Jonas Valanciunas.
Los Angeles receives: Iman Shumpert, Julius Randle

I know I'm going to take heat for this so you better at least be clever about it.

Did this trade for the following reasons

Wasn't able to land a good big in UFA, Randle not eligable for C
In real life i'm a raps fan and have high hopes for JV!!!!

didn't really want to move Randle, but he is the only piece that would get a good return

Memphis is a good guy and not in my conf so I don't mind giving him a player that could have a huge impact on his team

Jonas and Oriakhi are so similar with the latter locked into a great contract. Randle gives me some versatility and hopefully he can progress well.
