This is the same write-up that we saw at the end of V1 so I figured I'd bump it up here for the upcoming draft.


Point Guards

Matt Rolf PG/SG 6’2 210 Michigan 20
Matt is a star athlete. He was a dual sport athlete at Michigan. He played safety in football, and plays point guard in basketball. This combination is deadly. Matt has the speed to burn people up the court, but also has the strength to post up guards and man handle them. Scoring wise, he knows how to finish. He doesn’t rely on a jumper, but can knock it down if need be. His passing skills are above average, and his defense is spectacular.

Nate Bahr PG/SG 6’3 200 Texas 22
Every team loves to have a Nate Bahr on their team. He brings life to any sort of team. He loves to play in an up-tempo system. Nate is a smart player, and will be in his playbook until he masters it. Sure, he may try a behind the back pass in transition, or may make his layups a little fancier than it has to. However, this is for sure, Nate loves to play basketball. He is a leader who will push his team to victory. He has all the confidence in the world from 3. Nate Bahr is a crafty ball player.

Andrew Tirmenstein PG/SG
6’2” 187 Duke So
“T” was a 2-sport college athlete, winning the ACC championship in the long jump as well as leading the Blue Devils to the Elite 8. This kid is a freak athlete. He doesn’t look like much, but he’s simply faster, stronger, and more agile then anyone else his size. He’ll ignite any crowd with his fancy ball-handling, blistering speed, and acrobatic dunks, but occasionally this same athleticism gets the best of him. He’ll get too fancy occasionally and make bad decisions. He’ll try to force passes that aren’t there or make the big shot instead of the smart one, but when he finds his rhythm, even the best guards won’t be able to stop him. If he can learn some discipline, T could become a solid FRSL PG.

Wings

Adam Auernhamer SG 6’4 210 Michigan St. 21
Adam is a role player in the truest sense of the form. Adam has always been the shooter in the corner who just gets the job done. He can knock down the shots he needs to, makes the correct pass, and even plays defense. Sure, Adam wishes he could be the star player, but he knows his role, and stays within it.

David Kermit SG/PG
6’5” 203 Nebraska Sr
This kid is the real deal. While not much of perimeter shooter, he’ll knock down the 3-ball if he’s left open. But his real assets are found when he drives to the bucket. He shows a tremendous basketball IQ off of the dribble drive. He always looks to draw the defense in and pass first off of the drive, and he’s good at it. Whether it be to a big man backdoor or an open shooter on the perimeter, he’ll find the open man and get the ball to them. He’s also a terrific finisher when the defense covers the passing lanes. He’ll take the ball up strong and finish over taller defenders on a regular basis. Oh, and did we mention that he’s a stellar defender? This kid has the complete package at the guard position and should look to start right out of the draft.

Mike Mentz SF/SG 6’5 220 Missouri 21
Mike Mentz is a crowd favorite. His famous “Mentz-stache” has been imitated wherever Mentz goes. Who doesn’t love a good Mustache?! Mentz is a system player. He loves to run off screens and find openings in the defense. He is also a strong rebounder for his position.

Jake Koehler SF/PF/SG/PG 6’7 235 Illinois 20
Jake Koehler has been compared to Tim Tebow wherever he goes. In high school, he was QB and even has the same play style as Tebow. Jake is a born leader. He gets the most out of his teammates in all situations. He knows how to play true team defense. He can make the right passes, push the ball up the court, knock down the 3, and finish in the paint. If you are in a tight game in the 4th quarter, Jake will carry the team to the finish line. This guy is a class act.

Nat Pearson SF/SG 6’5 220 Northwestern 19
Nat is a beast. He came out of nowhere this previous year. He was not highly recruited by anybody, so he decided to walk on to Northwestern. Come to find out, this guy can do it all. He is a scoring machine. You put the ball in his hand and he will score. He is great coming off screens and curling to the basket. Great pump fake, and fantastic at getting to the line. Nat broke the NCAA record for most Free Throws made in a season. Nat takes a large amount of shots, but efficient shots like free throws, layups, and open threes.

Crash Hazard SG/SF
6’5” 204 Creighton Jr
Never has a player’s name defined his playing style quite like Crash. He is a constant threat to drive hard to the basket, look to draw contact, and make the and-1 bucket. He doesn’t have much of an outside shot, but he’s mastered the art of scoring in traffic, getting to the charity stripe, and making his opponent pay for sending him there. He’s also a very smart player, usually attacking his opponent’s best player, trying to get them into foul trouble. He’s an average defender- he tends to foul more then you’d like, but he’ll hold his own, and he’ll find open 3-point shooters when he draws the defense in while driving to the hoop. Though healthy throughout college, the major concern that many scouts have with Crash is that his reckless style of play will catch up to him sooner or later, but in the meantime he looks to be a solid contributor in the FRSL.

Maxwell Baumbach C/PF
7’3” 304 Ohio St So
Maxwell “Slow Burn” Baumbach is a force to be dealt with down low. Though he’s not the fastest player up and down the court, he’s a black hole on defense, rarely giving up easy baskets under the rim and pulling down rebounds left and right when opponents do get shots off. He’s also an animal on offense, simply shoving defenders around as he finds position in the post. The sight of his flowing red hair as he meanders up and down the court has earned Maxwell the nickname “Slow Burn.” But like any fire, despite its speed, it will take out anything in its path.

Jon Poppe PF/SF
6’9” 232 Wisconsin Sr
Jon was one half of Wisconsin’s deadly twin duo last year. A defender first, he could shut down even the best college forwards. He’s quick on defense, constantly cutting his opponent off and always thinking one step ahead. Offensively, he doesn’t look to shoot often, preferring to play high post and set up his teammates to make a play, whether it be with a well timed screen or a perfectly placed pass to an open teammate. In college he averaged 12 rebounds and 5.6 assists a game. He’ll never be much of a scorer, but he’ll gladly do all of the little things for whatever team he ends up on.

Nate Poppe SF/PF
6’8” 228 Wisconsin Sr
Jon’s twin brother, Nate is the more flashy of the two Poppe’s. Where his brother always looks to pass first, Nate is looking to receive the passes and score. He is terrific at the backdoor cut, often times finding himself wide open under the hoop, but he also has a decent midrange jumper and isn’t afraid to drive and draw contact. While not as dominant of a defender as his brother, Nate can still hold his own against most opponents. He does lack the rebounding and passing skills of Jon, but he makes up for it with his offensive prowess.

Khalekidin “K-Mel” Melkamu PF/SF
6’10” 248 Notre Dame Jr
Though a talented player, K-Mel has always been rather lazy. His talent was able to carry him in college where he averaged 18 ppg and 9 rpg, but he’ll have to learn some new discipline if he’s to make it in the FRSL. He definitely has the skillset necessary to play in this league as he can score from anywhere on the court, but he simply has never cared to practice hard or take care of himself. He was constantly seen at parties in college, drinking and smoking, and there are many accounts of him eating his weight in fast food. Nevertheless, a team willing to take a chance on a prospect may be interested in K-Mel. If he can figure out the personal stuff, he could become a solid FRSL forward.

Chris Brune PF/C/SF 6’10 240 Indiana 20
Chris is such a mismatch. When you put a small player on him, he just backs them down. When you put a big on him, he can knock down the deep jumper, as well as put it on the floor and attack the basket. Chris has one problem though; he doesn’t try as hard on defense. Also, if you do get a good defender on Chris, he sometimes shies away from even looking for a shot.

Marty Beckman C 7’0 245 Ohio St. 21
Marty is just a bruiser. He is extremely athletic being 7’0, however he only started playing basketball 3 years ago. He is still learning the proper footwork and positioning. The physical tools are there, he just needs to get the mental aspect.
