How does having a full snake draft lead to competitive unbalance exactly?

More experienced GM's have an advantage.

I read it perfectly fine. What if you have a full 30 GMs? One guy gets the Bobcats. Your top 3 players are Kemba, Ben Gordon, and Kidd-Gilchrist. Going by reverse order of standings before tonight's games, you would get the 11th pick overall in a non-snake draft. Who is the league's 11th best 4th best player on a team? Maybe... Kawhi Lenard or David West? Is that the recipe for winning games? It truly does not get more unbalanced than this idea.

^MKG is an absolute beast in FRSL for what it's worth. A lot of guys in the sim turn out differently than what you would expect based on progressions. Either way, looks like the commish team has chosen a snake draft so this is all moot.

re: New Sign Up Thread (Lotto Order in post 225, Player Spreadsheet in post 261)
Obviously I meant reverse win order from last season as sample size for the current season is too small. Or possibly combined wins from last year and this year so far. I also think you're only viewing this for the upcoming season. Player's ratings improve plus teams add top rookies to improve themselves. Teams with cap space can sign top free agents to improve themselves. Rosters aren't static.
Also, one goal it would achieve is a shorter draft and quicker start turn around to keep interest.

re: New Sign Up Thread (Lotto Order in post 225, Player Spreadsheet in post 261)
Here is my idea how to start the league without snake draft and also to not give the best team the adv of complete squad. We'll start with the current rosters but every GM need to pick 4 players from all around the league (also from his own team if he wants) and they will be FA in the next summer no matter what. It probably will make the 1st season pretty irrelevant but in the other hand you'll have to do some strategic trades in the first season who might increase the activity and will help us to mash up the rosters.

re: New Sign Up Thread (Lotto Order in post 225, Player Spreadsheet in post 261)
another addition to my idea to avoid situation where GMs will try to tank in the 1st season in order to get top rookie and top players in FA. If you'll get top 10 pick in the draft you'll get a fine who will be calculated like this- 1st pick: 10*1.5 mil, 2nd pick: 9*1.5, 3rd pick: 8*1.5....

re: New Sign Up Thread (Lotto Order in post 225, Player Spreadsheet in post 261)
I'm very confused by all of this right now tbh. Someone should make a decision here and we roll with it. If people are worried about an advantage I've inexperienced players, then those players can approach the more experienced ones for assistance if they would like. I'd assume this community isn't that cutthroat that they could not offer advice to new members.
There are advantages and disadvantages to any scenario, so lets pick the most simple one and get to some simming. |

For now we are going to with 2012 rosters and snake draft (also we are doing real rookies classes until we'll end up with real college/ highschool players).
