It's kind of a thin line we're walking here. On one hand, GMs should be punished for not sending in lists, but on the other we don't want to ruin franchises and scare off GMs, especially new ones. I have no idea what the best solution is, but I don't think giving teams terrible players is it.

how about this, the autopick will be solid so player with expiring contract but you don't have bird and 120% rule on him in the FA.

I think we give the teams younger players that aren't quite good yet but that have the potential to be good one day. For example, the next auto-pick might be Kyrie Irving or Greg Monroe.

This would make it difficult if another GM took over during this coming offseason.

I can't lie, I'm new to this forum and don't wanna cross any lines but auto-picking a Kyrie Irving or Greg Monroe wouldn't deter me from missing my pick time whatsoever, in fact It may encourage it cause those guys are good.

How about going down the 2012 draft list for 1st infraction as it'll likely be an early pick aka rebuilding a franchise pick then every infraction after auto-pick from bad contract or scrub vet list since these are usually the players used in real life to round out roster?

I like this idea. It forces them to not keep the players that they didn't pick. It's a hindrance to the GM, but it doesn't put them in cap hell so it gives them a point to rebuild from.

tbh I don't think we have non-active GM's that will hold up everybody this time , kenneth doesn't know the draft started , thats why he hasn't logged in to pick.

Also, I just wanted to give you all a head's up that next week is Finals week for me and hunerman. I don't know about him, but I'm very busy with a huge assignment and with studying for my tests, so I won't be putting together big boards unless its really close to my pick and I only need a couple players. I plan to make quick check-ins to the site often since I'm always on my computer, but if I happen to miss a pick, that's why and not because I'm inactive or a jerk.

Understandable but to play devil's advocate, with the upcoming FA class with Dwight, CP3, etc those expiring contracts give them a leg up in the salary cap category (depending on their motives) which may be unfair to other GM's while at the same time they may actually want to keep said player but won't have the leverage to actually keep that player due to them losing Bird Rights which imo overrides the CBA.
