Trailblazers season preview
Fans of the Trail Blazers will notice new signs as they arrive at the Rose Garden Arena this year:
"Management and ownership is not responsible for lost and stolen property". A little humor off the court, but a very real problem for the visiting team on it. The 2012-2013 Trailblazers are a team of thieves, and proud of it. Said team captain Demarcus Cousins "we don’t give a damn whether the league likes it or not; we gonna swipe, snatch and poke at the ball every chance we get". What Cousins is referring to is his teams propensity for forcing turnovers; Cousins, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard will all pick the pockets of careless ball handlers leading to plenty of easy buckets on the break. But it doesn’t end there; starters George Hill, Thomas Robinson and backups Terrence Ross and Andris Biendris also have a knack for stealing the ball. When asked about the starting five's ability to force turnovers Ross was quick to add "we don’t want to give any team a break when the starters need a rest. Andris and I want to keep the pressure on for the whole game". Many experts, this one included, foresee the blazers leading the FRSL in steals. On the offensive side of the floor the blazers will lean heavily on forward Demarcus Cousins whose ability to score in the post is matched by few. He should easily average over 20ppg. Terrence Ross will score plenty for this team despite coming off the bench, leading many fans to start a 6th man of the year campaign on twitter #BossRoss. Point Guard remains a concern for this group with George Hill getting the nod opening night. Time will tell if the young combo guard can retain his spot in the lineup. A season of lowered expectations beacuse of age and point guard concerns doesnt mean a thing to gm/coach Kevin, I predict playoffs and a hell of fight for any team unlucky enough to face us in the postseason. season prediction: 48 wins. best case: finals, worst case: first round exit |

Re: Trailblazers season preview
Nice write up. But the Raptors will have something to say about leading the league in steals, and they will also make Portland their bitches

Re: Trailblazers season preview
Last time Demarcus Cousins took a poke or swipe at a ball, he got fined. The Rose Garden-- "where the John Amamechi party happens"
