Re: JRich or Hughes
Hughes is a superior defender, but last year was a career year for him. I'm glad he cashed in on it.
Mark my words--Hughes will go back to shooting 40% (or below) from the field, espeically on a team that thinks they're going to rely on his outside shooting. The one thing the Cavs needed was outside shooting...and they go out and get ex-Warriors Donyell Marshall and Larry Hughes. Genius.
Hope LeBron's shopping Manhattan for that condo...he'll be a Knick soon enough.

I agree, his shooting will probably go down. It'll never be very high because of his poor selection. But Marshall was a nice pickup because he stretches the floor. He is a good shooter, out to 3 pt land.

There isn't a big difference. Hughes is the better defender and thief, JRich is the better shooter. JRich struggles from the line though. I'll take Hughes most of the time, especially if I need a sidekick. But JRich is a better fit for the Warriors.

Re: JRich or Hughes
J-Rich is a better offensive player because his shot is a lot better than Larry's. But Hughes is a lot better at defense, a little better in rebounding and he's great for the running game. Both guys got crazy athleticism but I'd take Hughes.

Here's another one of those cases where people use stats for the wrong reasons. Larry Hughes and J.R. are very similar in ability and statistics but I have not yet seen what Larry Hughes can do when he is the main focus of a defense (with the Sixers, he had Iverson; with the Warriors; he had Jamison with the Wizards, he had Arenas and Jamison; with the Cavaliers, he has LeBron). Just for that and the fact that I believe that Hughes will not reach another career year like that, I'll have to take J.R.

Re: JRich or Hughes
If Jason Richardson was as healthy as possible, mark my words: HE WOULD BE UNSTOPABLE!
Jason Richardson is my vote.

Re: JRich or Hughes
J-rich all the way because right now I don't see Hughes getting better anymore, but Richardson can be as good as a Scottie Pippen.

Re: JRich or Hughes
Offensively they are similar, J-rich is a better shooter and has abit more upside...but defensively and leadership wise, Hughes is miles ahead...Hughes has to be the pick right now!

Pippen played defense......
I'd go with the up-and-coming JRich over Hughes, but the only reason is age.
