It's 7 a.m., and Davis is running sprints at Santa Monica College. He is in Day 4 of his official training regimen, and the "off-day" brings a watered- down version of his regular workout -- 15 sets of 300-meter sprints, 25 sets of 200s, 30 sets of 100s -- as well as a special running mate.
Warriors vice president Mullin is in town for a charity benefit and has joined Davis on the track. Mullin is delighted to see his $60 million acquisition rounding into shape. He is also having a tough time keeping up.
"It took me about four days to recover," Mullin later admits with a smile.
