ESPN: Indy wants Diogu
I was watching ESPN's NBA Coast to Coast program, and Marc Stein was saying that Indy wants Diogu in any Artest trade with the Warriors, but the Warriors view Diogu as an untouchable.

Re: ESPN: Indy wants Diogu
I wanted Diogu as a Pacer in the draft. I was really surprised at the Warriors taking him so early, because I thought he'd fall pretty far. Still, Diogu and Pietrus would be very nice.

Not gonna say it will never happen, but I will be damn pissed if Diogu is traded. He is pretty much the only way the Warriors can get out of their current 3 point shooting offense. I think that the development of a post presense is far more important than additional wing players.

Agree 100%--not to mention that a young team like the Warriors has enough growing pains it will take on. There's no need to risk the chemistry on this team and cause more pains.
With the potential in Diogu (and Pietrus, for that matter) that isn't nearly as realized as...oh....let's say Mike Dunleavy (or Adonal Foyle), why risk the up-side of the post game that could come from Ike for a barrel of TNT that could blow up in our face?

Artest isn't the typical jump shooting wing. He takes the ball inside often and bullies his opponent, either getting a close jump shot or drawing a foul. He likes posting up; the jump shot is just a bonus.

A mention of this at CBS Sportsline...

How's this for a party's guest list: Bobby Brown (yes, the crazy, dancing fool), actor Terrence Howard, singer Mary J. Blige and disgruntled NBA forward Ron Artest. Of all the gin joints in Manhattan, Ron-Ron decided to show up at the place Dennis Rodman got kicked out of just weeks earlier, Crobar. Artest showed up with his wife (?!?!?) and dodged all questions about The Fight, the Pacers and being the subject of scurrilous trade talk (let's face it: The Pacers aren't sending him anywhere). I guess this is how he's spending his time off. If the Golden State Warriors give up promising rookie Ike Diogu in any sort of package for Artest, we hereby renounce the Warriors as our Team of Destiny this season.

Re: ESPN: Indy wants Diogu
Everyone wants Diogu.
He has the makings of a 20-10 PF in this league.
Diogu and Jermaine O Neal would be a lethal combo in Indy.
