Golden State- Chris Webber debacle
Hey Warriors fans.
I would love to hear some of your thoughts regarding the whole Nelson/Webber/Golden State mess that occured back in the mid '90's when C-Webb pulled off one of the most disgusting, disgraceful, and despicable moves in league history and whined his way into a trade with the (then) Washington Bullets for Tom Gugliotta (Unless my memory is faultier than I'd like to think.)
Here is what I'd like to know.
1.) What were the Warriors fans feelings after they swung that deal for Rony Seikaly, and what was the atmosphere like after Webber high tailed it?
2.) What was the whole source of contention netween Webber and Nelson?
I can recall Webber's diatribe against his (former) head coach and something like accusing him of lying.
What happened?
(And if the rumors are true about him being upset about Billy Owens being traded than that has got to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard)
I think the addition of Seikaly might've made the team contenders in the West at least.
Its to bad we never saw them all play.
What're your thoughts on Chris Webber?
And what have relations been like between Don Nelson and Chris Webber since then?
Thanks.
This part has a steak dinner riding on it so I also would like for someone to tell me what the team would've looked like back then if Webber never split?
Was Marciulionis with them still?
