The final game of Summer League for the Warriors.
Big games for Pierre Pierce and Toby Bailey tonight. If they want to get an invite to traning camp, they got to play their heart out.
And no more summer league for marco. His flying back to Italy to do something there. So if Buike doesnt play, Toby Bailey has really got to step up.

It's Halftime and the score is 50-45 Warriors winning.
Best player so far for the Warriors, PATRICK O'BRYANT! He has 8 points 4-5fg, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Re: [VSL 5] Golden State Warriors (3-1) vs New York Knicks (3-0)
And Warriors finish of the summer league 3-2.
We just couldnt hold on against the knicks. We still played very well considering how many players didnt play.
Pierre Pierce played awful. 0 points 1 rebound and 2 assists.
I think Josh Powell deserves a new contract with the Warriors. He stepped up bigtime in the absense of Brandan Wright.
Toby Bailey is another player who impressed me this summer league. He had 16 points 8 rebounds and 3 steals against the Knicks.
It was very dissapointed to only see Buike play 2 games, hopefully his ankle is okay. And I hope Marco Belinelli doesnt skip games to go to Italy in the regular season.
Best Warrior this summer league has to go to O'Bryant. The kid just dominated on the defensive end.
Overall, very good Summer League by the Warriors. Kieth Smart did a good job Now we have to wait until like October until Pre-Season games start.

weird, the reviews of the summer league i've read (i didn't watch any games either) said that o'bryant looked bad for most of the games.

Summer league winners and losers
Quote:
LOSERS
3. Patrick O'Bryant, Golden State Warriors – O'Bryant had a disappointing summer league and it looks like he will never pan out in Golden State. The ninth overall pick in the 2006 draft is lethargic and seems to not enjoy playing. He averaged almost as many fouls (four) as points (5.6). O'Bryant has a lot of work to do before he ever sees the court for the Warriors, especially considering their run-and-gun system.
|
oh, and by the way...
Quote:
WINNERS
1. Marco Belinelli, Golden State Warriors – Belinelli can really shoot and will fit in nicely at Golden State. He had some big games, including a 37-point effort, and he shot over 44 percent from three-point range. He also proved he can take it to the hole in averaging 22.8 points per game. He looks like he'll be ready to contribute immediately for the Warriors.

O'Bryant's development too slow for some
The former Blaine High School standout, taken No. 9 overall in the 2006 draft, still doesn’t look NBA-ready.

LAS VEGAS — Chris Mullin, the Golden State Warriors’ executive vice president, acknowledged before last month’s NBA draft that his team couldn’t go into the upcoming season with the same cast of characters as the one that just carried Golden State to the Western Conference semifinals.
“I think we’re going to need another guy,” Mullin said. “Whether he’s in the draft, or a guy that hasn’t played significantly to this point that we already have, one or two guys are going to have to contribute more than they did last season. Some players are going to have to emerge.”
That was practically an engraved invitation for second-year center Patrick O’Bryant — the ninth overall selection in the 2006 draft — to step up his game after a rookie season spent primarily in the NBA Development League. But so far in the Vegas Summer League, O’Bryant has yet to RSVP in the affirmative.
