I can't beleive we waived him! And you guys know the main reason to why we waived him dont you...TO GIVE PATRICK O'BRYANT SOME PLAYING TIME!
Thoughts?
Not a bad move...they weren't going to find anyone to take that fat contract of his, so they'd end up taking it all in no matter what. They might as well clear up room for some playing time for Patrick O'Bryant and Kosta Perovic.

Current 2008-2009 LA Lakers Roster
PG: Derek Fisher, Jordan Farmar
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Lamar Odom, Trevor Ariza, Luke Walton
PF: Pau Gasol, Vladimir Radmanovic
C: Andrew Bynum, Chris Mihm
Unsigned Free Agents: Sasha Vujacic, D.J. Mbenga, Ira Newble, Coby Karl, Joe Crawford
Stupid move! They COULD'VE traded him to NY (Jerome James and Dan Dickau), but instead, they rather pay him without having this kind of options... A Jerome James buyout would've been better both financially and for a personal side (I rather see Foyle being in the league than Jerome, although I think that JJ is a better fit to this team roster than Adonal)

I came here to post about this. It's great moves, although I always assumed we'd trade him to New York for somebody.
Good riddance you "good citizen" who doesn't play any decent basketball and never will. You can always hang your hat on the nerds who talk about your blocks per minute (I think yogi stewart got a contract the same way) and never actually watched you play.

BS, why would any of those teams trade those players for Foyle?
Besides, I thought you'd recently left the Warriors fanbase? (came up in a thread somewhere..)

How well is the Knicks Starters vs NBA Team Starters? 60%? 50%? 40%? or are we waiting to see by being optimistic because we have a new additional player in the Starting lineup that we assume Stat sheet record says he is better with this Knick roster than the guy he is replacing?
Warriors agree to contract buyout with center Adonal Foyle
By JANIE McCAULEY, AP Sports Writer
August 13, 2007
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- The Golden State Warriors have reached agreement on a buyout with center Adonal Foyle, parting ways Monday with the 10-year veteran and the team's longest-tenured player.
Foyle signed a six-year deal worth nearly $42 million in July 2004 and had spent his entire career with Golden State, but he rarely played last season in Don Nelson's guard-oriented lineups.
"We will certainly miss Adonal's presence, both on and off the court," Chris Mullin, the Warriors' executive vice president of basketball operations, said in a statement announcing that Foyle had been placed on waivers.
"However, we think this move is in the best interest of both parties as we move forward," Mullin said. "Adonal was a true professional in every sense of the word during his decade-long tenure with the Warriors. We wish him the best as he begins the next phase of his career."
A phone message left for Foyle was not immediately returned Monday night. He had been traveling back home in his native Caribbean and the voicemail of his agent, Lon Babby, said Babby was out of the country this week as well. The Warriors did not provide any details on the buyout.
The 32-year-old Foyle appeared to have interest in joining the Orlando Magic, which would be much closer to his homeland of tiny Canouan, in the cluster of Caribbean islands called St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
it was a dumb signing and everybody thought mullin was crazy for offering him that much money. adonal foyle could be a good citizen and all but he was easily the most overpaid player in the league. i found it funny at the time he defended his contract saying it's "supply and demand". i didn't know there was a demand for stiffs. :/ at least you got your money... i guess taking those economics courses in college really paid off.

It's been ten years, and I say if Michael Jordan chose to still play the game of basketball, he'd dominate.
Foyle is a damn good shot blocker. Don't let his salary cloud your judgement. There are very few that consistently challenge a dunker as well as he does.
