Jason Richardson For Brandan Wright. Good or Bad?
Did the Warriors get a good deal here? Is it more of a plus then a minus trading J-Rich for Wright? If Brandan Wright turns out to be a bust, what will be of Chris Mullin?
I've been thinking about the trade for a while now and I'm not quite sure if it's good or bad for the Warriors trading J-Rich for Wright. We trade away a 20ppg player that was the face of the Warriors for a teenager who was the 8th pick in the 07 nba draft that suposivly has allot of potential and some have said he will be an all-star one day. I just cannot make up my mind if it was a good or bad trade for the Warriors.
What do you guys think?

its a mind boggling trade especially after the warriors demolition of the mavs thanks in no small part to j.rich. you never know this brandan wright guy could be something someday but i think Charlotte got a tremendous bargain

I think when you look at the trade, you should look more into the salary cap and the long term usage of the freed up room that the trade gives the Warriors. If you look at the player for player trade, it's really tough to think that someone will have more impact than a proven scorer in Richardson.

your right apart from the freeing up of salary cap and ofcourse unless wright is the next arenas then im still not comfortable with losing one of your best players just to free up some cap room. i mean i dont think the only people who like the trade would be the warriors board ppl and the mavs lol

It's way too early to tell. I think we should start discussing whether this trade was any good say halfway through the season. We simply don't know how good Brendan Wright will be with this team as he has played no minutes.

Def. an interesting trade. Wright could be the PF the Warriors have been looking for or he could be a bust and he carries the most risk of being one. It's up to Monta, Barnes, Bellinelli, Pietrus and Jackson to fill that role left by Richie.

I'm sorry but I really doubt that we are going to make the playoffs again. Seriously!!!!!! You look at the roster and now it feels as if there is a huge piece missing, we took a step backwards and we are now an even younger team. I like Monta but seeing him crumble in the playoffs made me realize just how much more growing up he has to do. I don't see us making the playoffs...

Between J-Rich's salary and the long-term condition of the knee he had surgery on, I can understand why the move was made. I tend to believe the theory that the trade (as it occurred) was only part of a SNAFUed deal for K.G. Somehow, someone (between the W's, 'Cats, and Wolves) f'ed up royally. The rest, as they say, is history.

I'd say Baron and S-Jax were bigger parts of that 1st round upset - considering that Stephen Jackson could play the 2 or 3, and with a young Monta Ellis vying for PT as well and the potential of another season with Pietrus on the bench, I can see why you'd move one of the higher-priced swing men on this team.

I also believe that theory as well. But now your going to have big shooting guards defending Baron Davis, its going to be just like the Hornets all over again for Davis.

Re: Jason Richardson For Brandan Wright. Good or Bad?
Well us Warrior fans won't know until next Feb/Mar, but for now it does. The W's need a PF right now and sure I'm going to miss J-Rich, but the PF on the W's roster are not cutting it and getting Wright can be a good move.
Wright can score near the hoop and run the court very well.

Wright can score near the hoop and run the court very well...at a ****in COLLEGE LEVEL. We haven't seen anything that he could do in the NBA and people say its a good thing, 1.) he'll be to weak to play near the hoop, almost anyone in the NBA that isn't a Rookie or a Sophomore will be able to crush him. 2.) he'll work great in the Nelson system, to bad the Nelson system is probably only for one more year...thinking of the future? Yeah...okay...
