Hudson agrees to contract with Warriors

http://www.mercurynews.com/sportsheadlines/ci_6969316

Quote:
Two people with knowledge of the negotiations confirmed Friday that the Warriors have agreed in principle with veteran point guard Troy Hudson on a one-year contract.

Hudson became a free agent in August after the Timberwolves - their roster bloated by the five-for-one Garnett trade - agreed to buy out the last two years of his contract at a cost of approximately $10 million.

Hudson, 31, will receive $1.22 million this season, the minimum pay allowed for a player with 10 seasons of NBA experience. Per league rules meant to make veteran free agents more attractive, the Warriors will be reimbursed nearly $450,000.

Re: Hudson agrees to contract with Warriors

I don't know much about this guy, but checked his stats out and his gotten 14(points)/5(assists) one season. His not going to get any better as he is in his 30's, but with Sarunas gone, we needed a PG...

Welcome to the Bay, Hudson

Good luck with Troy on your team.

He isn't as good as he was back in '03 after having broken ankles several times and not as effective as before. I am not sure if he's good on his defense as chucking shots too much from downtown. Maybe not.

Hudson is a chucker and doesn't play defense. Good pickup for the Warriors.

On one hand: Hudson > Sarunas

I've heard rumours that Baron will more then likely not get a contact extention ...but hey, it's just a rumour.

Also, do you guys remember Perrie Pierce? He played in summer league for us and actually played quite well. Should we sign him aswell? I'm not quite sure if the Warriors need a 3rd string point guard but I think he will turn out to be a very good and it would only add more depth at the point guard position. Maybe they can invite him to training camp and really see what his all about.

Another reason why we should sign him, Baron will more then likely miss a few games this season, and when he isn't playing, the PG position becomes a MAJOR problem with the Warriors. So signing Pierce would add more depth to the PG posistion so when Baron isn't playing we won't be in as much trouble as we would be.
