Warriors: Stephen Jackson (NBA suspension) is out.
Clippers: Elton Brand (Left Achilles tendon), Shaun Livingston (Dislocated left knee) and Aaron Williams (Right Calf Strain) are out. Al Thornton (Sprained right ankle), Tim Thomas (Sore lower back), Chris Kaman (Left foot sprain) and Brevin Knight (Left hip flexor strain) are day-to-day.
Thought I'd make a game thread to help Bruindre out...
This game isn't going to be a walk in the park for Golden State. Even with Livingston & Brand out, the Clippers have got some young talent who have plenty of potential.
As you all know, the Warriors are a shocking team on the road. Last season, we even got blown out @ Cleveland when Lebron didn't even play!
I'm not sure how this game is going to turn out, but lets hope the Warriors can come away with their 1st victory of the season!
Yeah, I agree this (road) opener is probably more important than the home opener - let's see if we start the season tougher on the road.
I'll be @ Staples to check this game out. I'd say look out for me, but I doubt the cameras aim that high at Staples.
True. We all know the Warriors are a good home team(despite losing by 21 vs jazz), but when the Warriors are on the road, it seems like any team in the league has the advantage over them.
IMO the Warriors should attack the basket early. Try to get Kaman in foul trouble, then the Clippers don't really have a shot blocker.
I also wanna see my boi Marco Belinelli getting some good minutes. He barley played against Utah
It seemed as thought every time the Warriors came close to/take the lead, the Clippers went on a scoring spree. This loss disappoints me more then the Utah match, main reason because we had players helping out Baron, but still couldn't come up with the W. We couldn't get any rebounds, we got blocked a fair bit, missed a lot of easy layups inside, got out played in our style of play, and most importantly we couldn't stay consistent hitting our free throws, which is the main reason we lost the game, not to mention Mobley hitting massive shots near the end of the game.
But what about Kelenna Azubuike? Played 38 minutes, scored 33 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, also got a block and a steal. Did anyone see him turn Kaman into a poster? MASSIVE DUNK!!! Baron continues to be Baron. He got another double double(22 points 11 assists), also got 8 rebounds. Biedrins got a bit of offense back aswell. He finished with 12 points to add onto his 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. Ellis got going near the middle of the 2nd quarter finishing a lot of fast break points, but kind of cooled down after. Everyone else didn't really impress me too much. I feel as though Harrington could of done more. Patrick O'Bryant got some minutes too, and when he was on, his length really bothered Kaman inside. Patty had a pretty nice block too.
I'm not sure how we are going to go tomorrow V Utah...Baron played 45 minutes tonight so we can't expect him to have another big game. Croshere is out for 7-10 days, rumor has it that Nelson will activate Wright for the game in Utah and see if he can use his length to help the Warriors on the boards....We desperately need some help with that! I'm not sure how much he will help us, but it's worth a shot.
Watching the last 2 games, you can tell the Warriors really miss Jackson...Hopefully we can somehow come up with the win tomorrow.
all this hype about an 'evolved' team. evolved into what? same 3-point chucking bull**** as before. no emphasis on defense. did this team seriously think it could just 'turn it on' after the off season?
Bukie was the shining star for me. Al showed a little toughness. Baron, quite frankly, dominated the ball too much - forcing a few too many ill-advised shots, late on giving the ball off (allowing the Clippers D to recover and re-set). Is Baron's only assist-yielding play the pick-and-roll this year?
And w/ another game against the Jazz on the horizon, an 0-3 start seems eminent.
On Kelenna Azubuike
"He played a complete game today. He scored and rebounded. I am very proud of him. He is one of my most solid guys all around."
On Baron Davis Playing 40-Plus Minutes
"We knew we could play him big minutes. I think he tired at the end. He did not have much energy down the stretch."

On Missing A Clutch Shot Late In The Fourth Quarter
"I thought it was going in, and it was my shot. Coach wanted me to take that shot, and I just missed it. I am not going to make every shot in the season. I was very upset.
