Losing the close ones this year. Reminds me of the start last year. Nice effort by Monta.

Quotes
Don Nelson

Quote:
On tonight's game
"I thought we played a pretty good game - our best game of the year. We had a chance to win. I thought the key plays were the three open-court blocks by James. Those were three sensational plays ... unbelievable."
On Monta Ellis
"Monta as kind of flu-ridden. I didn't want to play him as long as I did but he was one of my best players. He'll probably get tomorrow off."
On Baron Davis
"I thought fatigue played a role in the fact Baron couldn't get where he wanted to go at times, although he had LeBron on him ... I needed the ball in Baron's hands. He didn't shoot a real good perentage. I've seen him sharper, but the thing I liked was that he competed and he gave us the best effort he could tonight."
|
Andris Biedrins
Quote:
On tonight's game
"We actually played pretty good this game. I think this is the best game we have played yet, but we just weren't lucky at the end of the game. We couldn't make a couple of shots and that's why we lost. But we still had a chance to win the game."
On The Team's Free Throw Shooting
"Of course, it cost us. Our goal was to shoot 80 percent this year, so we still have to work on those free throws. Because in games like this we cannot afford to miss this many shots."
|
Matt Barnes
Quote:
On tonight's game
"It’s very frustrating. We have a great crowd, but we are starting to get better. You can see the improvement game by game. We just have to start putting a complete game together, but it’s coming."
On Baron Davis
"I’ll take Baron all day, everyday against anybody. As a supporting cast, I think we are starting to get a little bit of rhythm and trying to take some of the load off his shoulders because he’s been carrying us this season. But we need to help him out. There are no moral victories, but we did do some things well. It all starts on the defensive end."
|
Brandan Wright
Quote:
On Making His NBA Debut
"It was a relief, just to finally get out there in a regular season game. But to finally get out there and play with the guys, especially in a tight game. For him to call my number, I definitely need to step up. I plan on contributing a lot to this team this season. We are going to need a lot of help rebounding and defense, so I’m excited about the future."

Re: Game #4: Warriors (0-3) vs Cavaliers (1-2)
Funny thing is I thought we played better D this game than any other so far. Of course, switching to zone leaves shooters like Daniel Gibson wide the **** open and also allowed the Cavs to crash the offensive board. I'm bracing myself for a long, disappointing season at this rate - Cavs are a good team, but the Warriors should have won that game, considering they had a 6 point lead mid-way through the 4th.
- Same story as last year - W's can't hit a free throw.
- Monta flu-ridden and hits 3 3-pointers? Baron's fatigued in Game 4 of the season? Man, this team is topsy-turvy already.
- What was the deal w/ that crazy shot by Wright in the 3rd? A little to anxious to throw up that first NBA shot, I guess.
- Did POB get swatted or what in that 2nd quarter? Man, my feelings got hurt w/ that block.
- Dallas - the perfect elixir for what ails the Warriors?
