Re: Game #6: Warriors (0-5) vs Pistons (5-2)

We've dominated Detroit the last 2 games we have played them. I say we dominate them again!

5 days off, they're still confident, despite the 0-5 record, Baron has been playing fantastic, and IMO tonight will be our 1st win of the season.

Warriors have this one by 10+ points and Baron goes off for 30+ points. BOOK IT!

Also, Matt Barnes is getting the starting job tonight. "he had the best practise of the season today" according to Don Nelson. Hope he does well and egts a few three pointers

Barnes starting also looks to be because Pietrus' is away from the team due to personal matters (did Pietrus even start the last game, though?).

Baron's knee is banged up - looks like that will be a game-time decision whether or not he plays.

Warriors' foul shooting still is

Quote:
Nelson said he will start Matt Barnes at small forward in place of Mickael Pietrus, who is tending to personal matters and is not expected to be back with the team before Friday. ... Davis (knee contusion) practiced for only about five minutes, according to Nelson. If Davis can play, Nelson plans to bring Monta Ellis off the bench. ... Croshere practiced for a second straight day and could return tonight.

Damn Baron and his knee! I'm still certain he will play and drop 30

As for Pietrus, last game he appeared to have the flu, which caused him to sit out. I want Nelson to give Wright some decent playing time this game. I also wanna see Croshere out there tonight.

If this isn't typical for modern day Warriors basketball.

At halftime, W's are 8-13 from 3-point land, and 8-13 from the charity stripe.

Re: Game #6: Warriors (0-5) vs Pistons (5-2)

Great. We allow the Pistons to outscore us by 10, only muster up 19 points, and squander away a game we led most of the time.

And PLEASE, nobody tell me we're 'just' 0-6.

8/13 3-point shots in the 1st half,
5/21 3-point shots in the 2nd half.

(I guess we can give credit to Detroit's defense, but...)

8/13 free throws in the first half,
5/9 free throws in the second half;
grand total: 13/21 (62%).

W's drop 3 straight home games in an arena they went 30-11 in last season.

Anyone a little anxious about what's going on?

Re: Game #6: Warriors (0-5) vs Pistons (5-2)

What lost us the game? Free throws and too many un-advised three pointers.

Not quite the game I expected it to be. A 22 point lead gone! Very dissapointing!

Well, we lost 6 games in a row last season and still managed to make the playoffs, so I'm not worried just yet.

Also, Brandan Wright looked very good out there tonight. Got involved on quite a lot of plays when he was out there for the 5-6 minutes he played. I thought he should of played a bit longer. I LOVED HIS PUTBACK DUNK ASWELL!

Better luck next game, Warriors

Re: Game #6: Warriors (0-5) vs Pistons (5-2)

I thought we got rid of J-Rich in part b/c he took so many lousy threes? Christ what a bad second half. Between this start, the 9ers season, the a's season, and the Cal tank job this year hasn't been good.

I'll restate my statement actually...the reason we lost is because of none other than Don Nelson

We also won 31 games at home - I don't think we're going to hit that mark this year. Considering the play of this team so far, I don't anticipate an improved road mark, either.

I wish to God that Nellie would play this kid more. Use his fouls. No reason you shouldn't be using him for spot action (say end of the 2nd and start of the 4th quarters). Nellie claims to not want to play Wright in a tight game (as if it makes more sense to run your vets into the ground).
