Re: GT #79: Denver Nuggets (47-31) @ Golden State Warriors (47-31) - 4/10
Nuggets-Warriors Preview
Quote:
Currently tied for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, the Warriors will play their biggest game of the season on Thursday when they host the Denver Nuggets at ORACLE Arena. The possible playoff-determining match-up will tip off at a special start-time of 5 p.m., and fans attending this contest are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they don’t miss any of the action.
The Warriors will head into Thursday’s nationally televised (TNT) contest well aware of what’s at stake. With both teams winning on Tuesday – Golden State beat Sacramento 140-132 and Denver earned a 117-99 road victory over the Clippers – both the Warriors and Nuggets remain tied for eighth place in the Western Conference. And since Denver owns the tie-breaker should the two teams finish with the same record, Thursday’s match-up becomes that much more important. With just four games remaining in the regular season, Golden State can assure itself of a playoff berth by winning out.
In order for that to happen, the Warriors must abide by the old cliché of taking it one game at a time. Playing the second of three-straight home games, Golden State is sure to be playing in front of a frenzied ORACLE Arena crowd. The Warriors have thrived at home all season, and the team will look to feed off the crowd’s energy again as they go for their fourth-straight win at ORACLE Arena.
In addition to the playoff ramifications, Thursday’s match-up will feature two of the most exciting teams in the NBA. Golden State leads the NBA with 110.8 points per game, while Denver ranks second with 110.7. And judging by the Warriors’ high-scoring affair on Tuesday night, an offensive shootout can almost be guaranteed when these teams match up.

I'm so pissed I have an exam. Figures the one nuggets game I miss all season would be this.

Hopefully the arena isn't half-empty because of the early start.

Warriors up 15-10 early with 5:49 left in the 1st.
Atmosphere and energy on both sides has been amazing so far for this game.

Nuggets go on a 11-1 run to start the 2nd and cut it within 5. Smith coming the bench has been a spark. 38-33 8:57 left in the half.

W's should've used their trade exception and tried to trade for Artest (something like Pietrus, O'Bryant and their 1st rounder for him).
