Ronny Turiaf Blog: Getting Caught Up On Everything On And Off The Court
Quote:
Hey everyone – sorry it has been so long since I updated this blog! I have been so busy both with basketball and my personal life that I have not had time to do new posts. I promise not to wait so long before my next post. I really want this blog to be a way for me to interact with fans and I will tell you more about that a little later.
First off, let me get you caught up on what has been going on in my life since my last blog. Most importantly, I had both of my parents staying with me in Oakland. That was really great for me because I am a big family guy. As you know, my mom has been here for a while, and for my dad to be able to take some time off from his busy schedule back home and come stay with us was pretty cool. To be able to spend some quality time, just the three of us, reminiscing about the old times and my childhood, that’s pretty cool. We did so much stuff while my dad was here. Just me and my dad playing in the backyard with the dog, that’s what makes us happy. Going to San Francisco and watching my dad checking out the bridges and the architecture of all the buildings, that was fun. My dad, he’s in to all that stuff…he’s pretty weird like that.
I have had the opportunity to go to a few Gonzaga basketball games in the Bay Area. I bleed Gonzaga basketball, so whenever I get the chance to go see them, I try to take time away from my schedule and do that. I just like to be there and support those guys because I know how much they care about the program and I want them to know that once you are in the program you are a Zag For Life. I am very proud of the choice that I made to go to school there, and hopefully I will get the chance to go and see them on Sunday when we come back from this road trip at the WCC Tournament in Las Vegas.
The WCC Tournament, regardless of what people think, is tough because all the teams in the conference play very hard and they all want to beat Gonzaga. So those games are usually really tough, grinding games and they’re going to have to stay focused and play together. As far as the NCAA Tournament, I feel Gonzaga has their own destiny in their hands. If they want to play tough, physical basketball they have a chance to go pretty far. And if they don’t, they’re going to be out early like they were last year.
Hopefully everyone got a chance to see the behind-the-scenes video that was shot at my house for the Warriors Weekly TV show. If not, you can check it out below. Basically you’ll get to see me at home, relaxed and where I am most comfortable.
