Possible trade: WARRIORS -- RAPTORS
TO TORONTO RAPTORS:
Danny Fortson
Erick Dampier
Mike Dunleavy
TO GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS:
Antonio Davis
Morris Peterson
Eric Montross
I think this deal would benefit both teams. First lets start off with the Raptors. First off we would cut off in salery about $1 million. Danny and Erick would bring real toughness and would easily replace the ageing Antonio Davis. With Danny and Erick playing in the west for the last couple of seasons, they would have no problem getting use to the ever weak east frontcourts. Secondly, we do not have the money to resign Morris Peterson, and by trading him we get a good young player who is deadly from the long range and best of all his contract does not expire until 3 years; I am talking about Mike Dunleavy. Mike would be the first real three-point shooter that we have since the departure of Dell Curry and Dee Brown.
Now for the Warriors. By getting Antonio Davis, they can finally have a veteran behind Jaminson. Currently they have youngsters like Murphy, who just won't cut it if this team wants to get to the playoffs. By acquiring Peterson, the Warriors get a complimentary player to Jason Richardson, and an upgrade to Mike Dunleavy. Now, Montross is a gamble for the Warriors, but they have enough front court talent that they can take the gamble. Everyone knows that Montross is injury-prone and nobody knows how he'd match up in the big west coast. But imagine it, if he gets healthy, the Warriors would really get something good here. They would be really big in the frontcourt, but not only that they would have veterans for the first time. Lets face it, the Warriors are a young team, and they need some veterans to step up and help this team to the playoffs; thats exactly what they get in Davis and Montross.
Like I stated earlier, this in my opinion is a win-win for both teams. State your suggestions/opinions below.
