FORTSON to ORLANDO?

It has been much talked about that Orlando needs inside pressence, bulk and rebounding.. Why not trade Fortson to Orlando even just for a first round pick.. It's not like orlando dosn't have 5 or 6 first rounders in the years to come from their previous trades.. what do you guys think?

Or how about Dampier to Orlando for a Draft pick or two.. 1st and second rounder? He would do a lot better since there are less true centers in the east...

Before making trade proposals, I strongly advise you to research trade restrictions and rules. Dampier or Fortson cannot be traded for draft picks-unless actual players are involved. Basically a trade with Dampier to Orlando is like us giving Orlando a 6 million dollar player for a "pick." This pick's only value is the player that will come-and we won't know the actual value of the pick until that player signs. So basically this is what you suggested:

Dampier (6 million, I think) for a draft pick (priceless-has no effect on the team's salary cap).

I'm just saying that we need to trade damp. or fortson or even both

For what ever we can get back.. even some junk players that we can waive but it would be nice to be able to pick up a pick or so.. Since Orlando does have an abundance of first rounders from previous tradeds that they have made through the years. That is all I am saying..

I don't think anyone wants Fortson. He has at least 3 more yrs of guaranteed $$ at 5-6 mil and he is undersized. No GM is going to trade a seat for him, much less a pick. And Dampier has at least 4 more yrs of guaranteed $8 mil a yr, which makes him practically untradeable.

If St. Jean can get rid of Fortson or Dampier for someone reasonable, he'd have done so already. Unless GS is willing to accept a huge contract in return (like Damon Studamire) or a contract blunder (Tariq Abdul-Wahad), the only way to trade them is to package them together with a sweet player (JRich or Dunleavy).

And that's not likely to happen.

Fortson for $2, a bus pass, and a biscuit. Basically, if the Warriors can move Fortson and Sura for expiring contracts and/or picks then its time to party.

Talking

I DO like Sura, but he feels he should be more of an option. I some cases I agree w/ him depending on the match up, but it seems his attitude toward the end of the season has me questioning him. I would like him on the team as a role player. Hopefully Muss. can change that attitude.
