The San Francisco Warriors?

I have to think that with all of Cohan's problems with the city of Oakland, this team will move across the bay if Magowan can come through with the plan to build the new arena next to Pac Bell park.

Does anyone else know anything about this?

If they moved there would still be a name change?

I have to think that there would be a name change. They were the SF Warriors before they came to Oakland so no reason to think they wouldn't be again. The Warriors have never had a good relationship with Oakland and have always marketed themselves as the bay area's team instead of just Oakland's. San Francisco is known as the city by the bay so people think of it as the bay area's city. For some reason, a lot of people think Oakland isn't.

I would not mind them being in frisco..

Where did you guys here of this.. is there any links that I could check it out...

If that did happen.. I would go to more games , since I don't have to cross the bridge and go across the bay just to watch a game.

This has been rumored for over a year. Giant owner Pete Magowan owns all the land around Pac Bell Park. He would be the one building the arena but in order for the arena to be profitable, they would need a major tenant. The Sharks are locked into San Jose so the Warriors, and all their problems with the city of Oakland, are the likely team should the arena actually be built. There is no rush though. I could see the arena being finished in no less than 4 years.

I dont see magowen doing it. Look at Cohan's track record. He leaves lawsuits everywhere he goes but I like the idea. Cohan should seel the team to Magowen. Now we are talking.

That would be a great thing..

A new city to play in..
A location where more people wouldn't mind traveling to watch the game.. look at the giants when they moved from candlestick to the new ballpark..

and the major plus.. A NEW OWNER THAT HAS SHOWN THAT HE WANTS TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO MAKE THE TEAM A WINNING TEAM. (sorry had to caps because I wanted to emphasize that)

I could not agree more

Magowen wants to win and he has shown that he is not afraid to move people to improve the club. Even if that means spending more money. That would be ultimate. The SF Warriors...sounds good
