Ilgauskas

I know that Dampier is thinking seriously about opt-out of his contract...

And I know that Cavs have been shopping Big Z, so I'll ask..

Ilgauskas fit well in GS?

I don't see why not. He is a center, a decent one at that. If Dampier is gone, he would fit in. Not to hard to determine.

A tad more complicated that that. If Golden State wants to continue under Musselman (which I hope they dont) then they will want a center that can play good defence, a la Dampier. This would be a downgrade, and probably for the money that Z will be going for, a very expensive downgrade.

Exactly why he is a bad fit.

But if Dampier leaves, there won't be much better than Z out there.

You dont make a huge contract for a person that doesnt fit just because of a lack of options.

Anyways there are other options

Joel Przybilla
Vladimir Stepania
Greg Ostertag
Marcus Camby

and because of the many other teams chasing him, I doubt this as a possibility:

Vlade Divac

Oh well, Pryzbilla, GS can try to trade Eschmeyer for him...

I'll take a piece of that action. With Skinner & Gad getting the bulk of the center minutes there's no reason to keep Pryzbilla here. Either we keep Eschmeyer or move him for anything we can get (cash, basketball rack, etc... )

A better trade to Bucks is Haislip and Pryz for Nuggets Skita and Pope

Skita has a better future than Haislip... and can play PF or C.

With the way he has been outplaying shaq, I'm pretty sure the warriors will convince damp to stay and throw some serious cash at him.
