[Carmelo] Anthony scored a career-high 39 points on 14-of-22 shooting to lead the Nuggets to a 116-97 victory over visiting Portland on Monday.
Anthony has recorded 20 points or more in five of his last six games.
Denver coach Jeff Bzdelik believes Anthony's contributions aren't limited to scoring.
``He's running the court real well, and defensively he's doing some things that are good in terms of weakside help and awareness,'' Bzdelik said. ``We showed him some film of Scottie Pippen. And he's learning from all of that. He's doing a lot of great things for us.''
Denver will try to win four straight for the first time since a season-high six-game run from Nov. 25-Dec. 5.
The Nuggets expect to have center Marcus Camby available Friday. Camby, among the NBA leaders with 9.9 rebounds per game, left Monday's game in the third quarter after bruising his left shoulder.
Golden State's road problems continued Tuesday with a 107-93 loss at Dallas.
Speedy Claxton and Jason Richardson scored 20 points apiece for the Warriors, who dropped to 5-20 away from home.
Golden State has been a much better home team, winning four in a row at the Arena and 15 of 22 there this season.
The Warriors had won seven of eight against the Nuggets before losing the first three meetings this season.
