AIDS? Do you mean he'll infect them with laziness and bad attitudes? I disagree, as he was a team leader last season, and was a role model on and off the court.

Warriors waive Alston

Brad Weinstein, Chronicle Staff Writer _ Thursday, October 24, 2002
-------------------------
Rafer Alston's agent expressed surprise Wednesday that the Warriors waived the fourth-year point guard, who came to training camp enthused about his chances of making the team.

"I'm stunned to say the least, especially when all indications pointed to Rafer contributing to the club this year," Keith Kreiter said of his client, who averaged 11.2 minutes in six preseason games. "Rafer was completely professional from Day 1 and will move on with class. He will certainly be a big help to another club this year."

Remember Logan's Run?

That's the impression I am getting here. Alston was obvously going to stick around if Logan didn't sign but I dont think anyone can deny that Logan could turn out to be a really good NBA point, not just a streetball legend. Logan reminds me of a mini timmy H and I hope the Warriors stick with him.
Although I am afraid he might be being used as trade bait for the Fortson trade plan.

I have been saying that for a while now..

I still think they should have kept alston. From what I have been reading for weeks... Logan has not yet signed.. meaning he has not practiced with the team.? So if he hasn't signed nor practiced.. then how could he have beat alston?

One thing I believe though that there is a big chance that if logan is being signed ( per reports that his agent claims, that he would be signed within the next 48 hours ) he is being signed to be used to be traded in package with disgruntelled Danny Fortson.

Hmm...I was excited Alston was coming to the W's. I'm dissapointed with his departure, and I do not want Logan coming in. The contract fiasco itself, turns me against him. Logan KNEW he wasn't good enough to make the team, so he demands a guaranteed contract to get his $$$$

Draft picks who sign can't be traded for a certain amount of time, 6 months I think. For example Welsch and Dunleavy can't be traded till 12/15/02. If Logan signs he is going to be with GS for around 6 months at least. If he is to be traded anytime soon he won't be signed first. They would trade his draft rights.

Maybe they resign Alston and place him on the IR like Dean Oliver? Speaking of Oliver what is up with him. I had the privledge of meeting him. He is a great guy I hope he sticks around with some team!
