Help me train for high school basketball

I was going to play Bball this year (my freshman year) but the first day practice started I got sick and had to stay home. So I figure I'll just train really hard and hope to make the JV team next year. The two things I need the most help on are my jumping and my jump shot. I have been working out to increase my vert, and normally I do 6 sets of wall sits or squats, 6 sets of an exercise I found on a website (don't know what it's called, you put one foot on a bench and you raise your whole body up with just that leg, sometimes I use light weights with it) and 6 sets of jumping as high as I can. I found this all on a website and it looked like a pretty good program. My first week I got great gains, around 3-4". However since then I haven't been able to gain anything for the last four weeks or so. Does anyone have any ideas to help me out? I'm 14, 5'11" and white. Right now I have around a 16-18" verticle, which I know is pretty bad, which is why I am working out. For my jump shot, I am very accurate withing around 20 feet, but it doesn't seem like I get very high off the ground. I only jump about 2 inches off the ground for my jumper, and if I do get higher, it's tough for me to release at the top of my jump (especially at long range)? Can anyone help me out? Sorry about the lengthy post, if anyone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it.
