James will be on TV again!!!
http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2002/1226/1482565.html
Game will be on January 4th at 9:30pm ET, St. Vincent-St. Mary (9) will play Mater Dei (4).
As much as I'm excited to see James play again, I'm also excited to see Mater Dei's best player, D.J. Strawberry. He's Darryl Strawberry's son, and from an ESPN the Magazine article, he sounds really good.

Wow the kid has not even made the NBA and people are making money off of his name. I am not going to watch this game because ESPN is too greedy. People are over-hyping this kid and he does not deserve it. I agree he is very talented and will make a very good NBA player someday but I do not believe all this over-hyping is needed.

I agree 100%. The kid is good but they (media) are setting him up for instant failure in the NBA. It takes two to three years for highschool talent to mature to the NBA level of greatness.
I wish he would shock the world (media) and go to college!

As other say this is way too much. National TV? Come on? I understand local TV. In KC, we show HS games. That is fine, but national tv is way too much

I'm disappointed that tonight's game is being billed LeBron vs. DJ Strawberry. It says that on ESPN's listings. Strawberry isn't that good of a player. He's mediocre. Mater Dei is traditionally a strong team and the setting is perfect but Jr. isn't even a top 100 recruit. Had his name not been what it is, we wouldn't see ESPN drool all over this matchup.

Oh, thanks for letting me know that. ESPN fooled me into thinking that Strawberry was a top 50 guy. I want to see St. Vincent Mary's play the Ozen Texas team with Perkins.

Well Strawberry played better than I thought he would...defensively. He was locked on James for the entire game and did a respectable job on the future superstar. Offensively, DJ is still not that strong.
I thought Wesley Washington of Mater Dei was the best player on the court last night...outside of the Boy Wonder of course. The future Minnesota Gopher played a very well rounded game. He was better than I thought.
