El Camino/Oceanside
Anyone catch the Torrey Pints National Prep Classic last week? GREAT weekend of basketball. The national division had US #17 Fairfax, and #20 St. Anthony of New Jersey, as well as 3 other ranked teams from California. Fairly from Tennesse with their 6'10 sophmore upset New Jersey. That guy is probably 6'7" tops. in the final, it was my alma mater, unranked El Camino from Oceanside against Fairfax.
El Camino is lead by Wyoming bound PG Mikel Watson. Hes one of the best high school PG's ive seen in person. However, in the final, he was a non factor due to foul trouble. But El Camino, while not having great individual talent played as a team, and squeaked out a 2 point victory over the heavily favored Fairfax squad on a last second shot.
Look for El Camino hopefully next week to get their first ever national ranking.
