Linas Kleiza got jobbed, should've been a McDonald's All American

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...-2003Mar1.html

CHARLOTTESVILLE, March 1 -- Montrose Christian senior center Linas Kleiza said he felt the McDonald's All-American Game made a mistake by not offering him a spot in one of the premier high school all-star games. He made a terrific argument for himself on the court tonight.

Kleiza scored a game-high 28 points, had 17 rebounds and thoroughly outplayed Oak Hill's Ivan Harris, who was selected to the game but did not score tonight, in No. 1 Montrose's 73-65 victory over the Warriors at University Hall.

"That hurt a lot. I had to prove myself tonight," said Kleiza, who has yet to commit to a college but has several suitors, including Missouri, Connecticut and North Carolina State. "I definitely felt like I deserved to be there."

What a joke! Oh well though, Kleiza will be dominating in college next year anyway and his play will make everyone forget he wasn' t selected.

It is good to know that Kleiza is doing great in USA. As I've seen him playing here in Lithuania and he was considered best Lithuanian prospect of his age, it was a little bit shocking that he left for USA. Just 1 from 10 player become good who go there (Songaila, Jasikevicius, Karnisovas). And some even return looking worser than they were before leaving (Jurkunas, K.Marciulionis and more others). So Im very glad to hear that Kleiza is known there and maybe he has chances to develope his play.
