Good pickup for UNC but if he is anything like his brother UNC fans will be mildly dissapointed.

Re: Official Recruiting Thread: Class of '08
$$- Denotes McDonalds All-American
My top 5 Classes:
1. Wake Forest
Commitments:
$$5* SF Al-Farouq Aminu
5* C Tony Woods
5* C Ty Walker
The fact that despite all that has gone on in the program this past year to have this class is sensational. Aminu is going to be a flat out monster in the future. He can do almost everything on the basketball floor and will be a starter the minute he steps on campus. Woods, and Walker both are great big's and tremendous prospects. They will from WF's version of the twin towers.
2. UCLA
Commitments:
$$5* CG Jrue Holiday
4* PG Jerime Anderson
4* PF Drew Gordon
$$4* CG Malcolm Lee
Probably the best collection of guards in the past couple of years. Holiday is IMO the 2nd best player in the entire class and will be an instant impact guy in Westwood. Anderson, and Lee will be contributors off the bence their first years IMO, but after that will help make UCLA's formidable backcourt of the future. Drew Gordon is very underrated IMO and he will be a stud from day one in LA.
3. Ohio State
Commitments:
$$5* C BJ Mullens
$$5* SG William Buford
4* SG Walter Offutt
4* PG Anthony Crater
BJ Mullens is the best player in the '08 class. He is an uber athletic big guy with plenty of game and a nasty attitude. When he adds some more polish he will be a future NBA star. Buford is the best player out of Toledo maybe ever (Big Stretch but he certainly is in the debate). His all-around game will land him early PT. Offutt will be a bench guy his first couple of years but will eventually contribute. Crater will be a very productive PG down the line for the Buckeyes.
4. North Carolina
Commitments:
$$5* PF Ed Davis
$$5* C Tyler Zeller
$$4* PG Larry Drew
3 signings, 3 McDoanlds All-Americans. Very very good class for the Heels once again. Davis is a very good prospect and will end up in Chapel Hill for a couple of years. He has the potential to be the best big in the ACC by the time his career is over. Zeller is overrated but a solid prospect none the less. He will be a 4 year player for the Heels. Drew is a very good PG and will be a very good replacement for Ty Lawson. UNC would be #1 in my rankings if they had 3 legit McDonalds All-Americans but they don't so they fall to 4th.
5. Georgetown
Commitments:
$$5* PF Greg Monroe
4* PF Chris Braswell
4* C Henry Sims
4* SG Jason Clark
They have one of if not the best prospects in the country in Greg Monroe. How they pulled of landing him I might never know. But he is one and done for sure and will be an instant impact guy much like an Oden, Durant, or Beasley. Braswell is from DeMatha so you know he is well coached and one hell of a player. Sims could eventually provide a presence that rivals Roy Hibbert's current one. Clark gives them another very good guard that fits their system fairly well.

Re: Official Recruiting Thread: Class of '08
Bud Mackey who was originally committed to Indiana but was released from his scholarship for a drug charge is supposedly looking at Kemtucky. He is from Scott County (KY) which isn't far from Lexington, and is currently playing at Harmony Prep in Cincinnati. There are rumors swirling over on the UK boards that he visited UK this past weekend, and he is expected to commit there soon. Again just a rumor but something to look out for.
In other news Tennessee has offered Saginaw, Michigan guard Daniel West. He would be a very good pickup for the Vols if they were to land him. Some here in Michigan think he is better than teammate Draymond Green.

Is Bryce Smith from Taft going anywhere? I remember watching him at the Hoophall classic on ESPN and he can really shoot it.
