Re: Official Recruiting Thread: Class of '09
I have heard that Dash Riley doesn't see the ball enough on his AAU team, but I am not concerned about that, because basketball is a guard's game until the NBA anyway.

His guards aren't your typical Family guards (they usually have the best in the state AAU wise), and he has 3 other D1 bigmen around him. I'm going to try to make it out to a DCD game next year to see how he does when he is the focal point. Are you pretty high on him HKF?

Strickland. He does everything. He can defend, can run the show, score, and he is an awesome athlete. If your making a Derrick Rose comparison in this class than Strickland is the guy you compare to Rose (although not quite the athlete Rose is). Wall is more like Tyreke Evans, or OJ Mayo. He isn't exactly a true Point Guard, but more of a scorer. His handle is very good, and his ability to put the ball in the basket is elite. He doesn't run a team like a Rose or a Strickland. I have seen a little film on Wall and while he does score often he is prone to turning the ball over quite a bit. I would imagine his assist to turnover ratio isn't anything to sneeze at. If/when Wall learns to run a team at a high level I would pick him but until then I would take Strickland. Wall is ranked higher because his ceiling in terms of the NBA is higher.

Rivals rankings are all over the place. I am sort of high on Riley. He is a talented player for sure, but he needs to improve greatly. Three years (or four) at Georgetown will make him a lotto pick like you said, so my expectations are low. No matter the school, I expect bigs to struggle (I mean true bigs 6'10 or bigger), because the game is called differently for them.
