Cassell Thought?
According to the Minnesota Star Tribune:
Rumors are that Cleveland General Manager Danny Ferry has some interest in making a trade with the Wolves for point guard Troy Hudson. One player the Wolves have interest in is point guard Earl Watson of Memphis.
Hypothetically:
Say Cleveland gets Hudson from Minnesota and the TWolves sign Watson from Memphis. Is there a chance Sam would be available? Would Minnesota have any interest in expiring contracts, maybe a 1st rounder and any of our guards for Cassell/Spree? Do we want Sammy???

Re: Cassell Thought?
Why would getting rid of one PG and landing another make Cassell expendable? That would just put them in the same situation as they are in right now.
I really think Minny believes that their roster is good enough to compete for the playoffs next year, so I'm not sure why they would deal Cassell. Maybe if Minny is having a miserable season come February they will start the rebuilding process by trading off Cassell.

Wolves
C-?
PF-Howard
SF-KG
SG-Wally
PG-Jaric
Rockets
C-Ming
PF-Swift
SF-Mcgrady
SG-Sura(?) Wesley(?)
PG- Hudson

Re: Cassell Thought?
not to mention the dreadlocks and cornrow hairstyles to distracting for my taste.JK
but he is a good ballplayer and makes some clutch shots every once in a while. not a good fit for the rockets.

Hitokiri - was a term given to four different samurai during the Bakumatsu era in Japanese history. They were against the Tokugawa shogunate and in support of the Meiji Emperor. Hitokiri, literally meaning "Person Slayer", is a superlative name for this particular caliber of samurai warrior. These four samurai were warrior elite and widely considered undefeatable by normal people. Along with the title of Hitokiri, the four men were also referred to a "The Four Butchers" or "Heaven's Revenge against the enemies of Imperial restoration". Most of them came from the Choshu-Satsuma provinces, which were largely anti-Bakufu at the time. Three of these notable men were Kawakami Gensai, Tanaka Shimbe, and Izo Okada. (Just some interesting facts about the legend)

Brilliant post.
Of course I'm saying that sarcastically. I came into this thread to eat some crow, so have fun ripping me for this. I just didn't think that Minny had soured on him that much.

Re: Cassell Thought?
No need to rip Koko. It would've been stupid for Minnesota not to do this deal. They rid themselves of a "supposed" trouble maker and pick up to talented young prospects that still have something to prove in Jaric, Chalmers, and a protected first rounder. Protected or not, still a first rounder.

I'm not sure if I'm misreading your post or what, but to me it sounds like you think Minny is getting the first round pick. The Clippers are actually getting a protected pick from Minnesota.
I just thought they would give Sam a 2nd chance this season, but getting him out of the way might turn out to be a good deal for them. We'll see.

My bad you are correct. I though Minnesota got Jaric, Chalmers and the pick. Even though I was wrong, this should still be interesting. The Clippers should be fun to watch. You have a good floor general in Cassell and Cuttino will bring energy and a competitive spirit. Who is their center???
PF - Brand
SF - Maggette
SG - Mobley
PG - Cassell
C - ???
Not a bad lineup. Maggette needs to move to SF because he is bigger than Mobley.

Their center would be Kaman, I think.
