Houstons chances
What do you think the chances are for the Rockets to make the playoffs on a scale from 1-10

Re: Houstons chances
A 6 in my opinion. The next 4 games will tell us something though. It is essential that we win at least 3 of the next 4.

Yao finished Friday's game with 27 points, 22 rebounds and five blocked shots, becoming the first NBA player to reach 20 points, 20 rebounds and five blocks in a game since Shaquille O'Neal did it last March against the Bucks. Only Moses Malone and Hakeem Olajuwon had done it with the Rockets, and the last time Olajuwon did it was Feb. 10, 1993.

Re: Houstons chances
I'd put it around 5 or 6.
Let's say 5.5.

Re: Houstons chances
well from the performance vs washington if guys like juwan howard and deke can have solid games and t-mac and rafe doing what they need to we are a very good chance and now that stro is finding his feet and with the team only being able to get better with players coming back i dont see why we cant make the playoffs if we are consistent

Re: Houstons chances
Considering that more than just us "playing well" has to happen, I'm gonna go with 4 Chuck...
First of all we've lost 6 div games so far, everyone else has won at least 4. The Grizzlies are just as good as Dallas, and unfortunately NO/OKC is much better this year. We have to hope that the Pacific and Northwest divisions really stink it up outside of their div. leaders.
So maybe Denver, LAC or LAL, will be our biggest competition for that last eighth spot.
Only going on our season-long play w/ Yao, Anderson, Alston all back healthy, and Stro playing up to his ability then I'd go with a 6 or 7. This is assuming we make some sort of steamroll after the A break.

Re: Houstons chances
Considering how great we played on Tuesday and that we will have Yao for the last 4 months of the season id say we have 8/10 chances to get to the playoffs.

Yes,these next few games will tell the story. (Cleveland, Toronto, Denver, Charlotte)
Cleveland: (Positive) Larry Hughes out. (Negative) Lebron is on fire right now. Probably player of the week.
Toronto: (Positive) They aren't very good. (Negative) We got blown out last time we played.
Denver: (Positive) Camby/Nene are out. (Negative) Melo's scoring could neutralize TMac's scoring.
Charlotte: (Positive) They aren't very good. (Negative) They play well at home and beat us last time we played.
All games we could win if others step up.

The Grizz are tough, definitely, and have a chance to make serious noise in the playoffs, but this is just a silly thing to say.
Anyway, like I said before, Houston will be in the playoffs. As long as McGrady's back holds up Houston will be in the playoffs. Eight seed would be a tragedy though, if you assume San Antonio wins the division, as you're not gonna get past the Spurs. That's not hate.
What you need is to get that seventh spot. That would more than likely put you up against Phoenix as the Northwest division is a joke and the Clippers and Warriors are still the Clippers and Warriors while the Kings and Lakers suck so the Suns should win the Pacific and get 2nd seed. If you can get that 7th seed my money is on the Rockets beating Phoenix even without home court advantage.
You heard it here first
